Hi all. I have been reading the board for about a year and a half now and recently became a member. I have learned a lot from you all and I appreciate it greatly. Im returning to my favorite place on Earth on March 31 and staying at the DelRey again. I just love the convenience.

Anyways, my question is does anyone know of a decent local gym that I can go use and pay by the visit. I just recently got into working out a bit and dont want to fall off the wagon.

thanks

"the teacher"

I use the MultiSpa Gym located on the southwest corner opposite Parque Central. Daily fees are 3,000...weekly 8,000 & 15-day 12,000. It is layed-out on 3-floors of a high-rise. The gym has plenty of treadmills, step machines and several elliptical trainers on the first level, stationary bikes for spinning and a snack bar on the second, and universal gyms/free weights on the third. There are showers and lockers, but no other amenities like sauna or swimming pool.

The head trainer, Ivan, is a good guy, and always willing to help. Several good-looking chicas are usually mixed in with the morning work-out crowd.

Though I've worked out at Golds at the Radisson a few times, I've always preferred Grupo Multi-Spa too. Just has more of a "real gym" kind of feel to it, the main weight area is nice and open, it's got all the stuff I need (including a new rowing machine :D ), and the ten-minute walk from Sportsmen's makes a great warm-up. In fact, if I didn't have this place available to "sweat out the toxins" from the previous night's party activity, I'd be in pretty sad shape after a few days.

Try the club located at the Hotel Ty Corboci. I don't remeber the name but it is quite large, has an olympic pool, jacuzzi, and killer steam sauna.

All kinds of exercise machines and you can get a membership for any thing from a day to a month. It's right by Sabana Norte and you can walk to the MP's near paseo Colon from there within 15 minutes.
