I was planning on coming down from the 6th to the 15th which falls on easter which I spaced out about. Should I push my trip back a week to 13th to the 22nd to avoid be in CR during easter. Does the whole place shut down during the holiday? What do you think...

IMO, push it back a week. I think you'll be happy you did.

Thanks for your opinion I was thinking the same thing. The only problem was I was using miles for the ticket and its like twice as many miles the following week. But C'est la vie

I don't know if it's worth double miles or not, but due to the Semana Santa holiday, many places will be closed and the chica numbers will be down from Friday (4/6) thru Sunday (4/8 ). But after that, things should return to normal. Tough call. Either way, have a great trip!

Thursday and Friday are dead as can be. Things pick back up Saturday, though a lot of chicas are just out of town on holiday with family. I'd avoid that week in general, though it's pleasant living here during that period, I can actually walk without dodging traffic.

Just got this notice from the Easter Bunny:
Quote:
Dear Mr. Loco

Due to the upcoming Easter celebration, the sale of
alcoholic beverages will be prohibited from midnight,
Wednesday 4th to Friday 6th.

This “dry law” will affect all supermarkets, liquor
stores, bars and restaurants, and includes beer, wine
and spirits. As a result, no alcoholic beverages will
be sold in the News Café or room service.

According to our records, you are scheduled to stay
with us during this period of time.

If you wish to consume these products, you may
pre-order and pre-purchase them by e-mail or fax. Your
purchases will be in your room at check-in time. Only
whole, closed bottles can be purchased, as the law
prohibits drinks from being dispensed on those days.

Please be advised that even if alcoholic drinks are
pre-purchased, consumption will not be allowed in the
public areas of the Hotel or the Café.

That notice is somewhat ambiguous. The ban is from midnight Wednesday to midnight Friday. It covers both days completely.
