I found this site researching vacation spots, and don't think I want to make the trip now. I feel like I will get addicted like everyone else!!!! :D

You can get "addicted" in the States, too, plus get pissed off and go broke. Add to that the lousy service (by comparison) which is legendary, and it's no wonder this board thrives.

Take a few trips, try it out, and then decide. For whatever reason, prostitutes in Central and South America simply get into it more than American prostitutes. Some here say they're better actresses, others say they're in more dire circumstances, and still others go by the "gene" theory, with a belief their talents are imbred. No matter how you slice it, it's simply a better value, especially when you factor in the "vacation" aspect to traveling and the entertainment derived from hearing the "big fish that got away" stories offered up by the membership here.

And the part about non-pros is fascinating. You can analyze a latina's motives up and down as to why she has interest in you, from the skeptical to the naive. But the same applies; they're hot, willing, and super sweet. I don't miss the hardened, competitive, and conceited gringa attitudes when I'm there, and I certainly don't say, "Gringas, even with their flaws, are more sincere when they say they like me." Hah! What a joke! I've said this before; your money and the opportunity for a better life that you represent to latinas is a "starting point" only. It's what happens next that counts, no different than how a woman's looks initially attract a man, and may or may not lead to something deeper (so to speak).

Go man. You're wasting precious, precious time. Whether to dabble with hookers or non's is a personal decision. But either way you'll "grow" from the experience.

Okay, a cautionary note. By getting involved in mongering - if only to Costa Rica so far in my comparitively limited experience - I've sacrificed the capacity to ever again become romantically involved with anyone here in the U.S. where I live. Psychologically, it's just not possible anymore.

Would I do it all over again, if had the choice? If I could somehow wipe all memory of every experience I've ever had with latinas in Costa Rica and go back to innocently chasing gringas around again, without any knowledge of the alternatives available in Latin America and elsewhere?

Hmmm - let me think about that for a nanosecond....

The most positive result of all this is that I no longer have much of an interest in bar hopping and/or clubbing back at home. Which saves me a lot of money and keeps me sober and most important helps keep my mind clear to think about the good things in life. Like... HOT young chicas from all over the world centrally located in San Jose.

You all add fuel to the fire!!!!!! Each day that passes increases the itch/couriosity of the whole thing. I use to be one of those that would laugh at the thought of paying to have sex. But even for 100, which I will not pay I'm a newbie not a moron, you are getting a deal. A typical night out with a woman here cost 150 minimum, and hardly ever do they get down on the first date. Thus you've just spent 300 to get a piece. Why not spend 300 on 4 girls and have no issues to deal with. I know I'm not telling you guys anything you dont know, but just comming around to the other side!! My spanish is minimal at best is that going to be a huge issue??

I certainly agree with the group. Your opinions of relationships here in the States change dramatily. When not thinking of past trips or thinking about my next (21 days and counting) the 11th since the end of 2002 with my ticket bought for my 12th in September I’m wondering if I can swing the time off for Thailand or the Philippines, or Rio or Buenos Arias.
Well you see what I mean it can be slightly addicting.Chicas in their twenties oh they're so cute at that age.
