Who the F cares what is sexual preference is-was as long as he was not "pushing" it on someone. An ugly asshole is an ugly asshole & I agree you all should have thrown him in the waterfall. I hate seeing the "ugly" human who is trying to blame others for his own unhappiness like this guy. Him being a Gringo makes it a bad reflection on other GOOD Gringos who have respect for all others & their cultures. We should all listen to the natives & not try to change or preach to them that we know better after all what do we really know since we all have had our own form of brainwashing where ever we have lived :wink:

When I was in la Fortuna, I went on a tour to la Fortuna waterfall. It was a great tour you should be in good shape there are many stairs involved but most of the tour was via horseback $30.00 4 hours The tour had only one other American this very annoying openly gay person from Seattle Washington, the rest for the people were from Canada, France, Germany and England. All this person from settle wanted to do was bash America, I politely told him that I was not going to listen him bash America all day. It was all good for a wile then he starts up again and I lost it and turn into the ugly American it was a quiet tour after that. At the end of the tour, the German couple came up to me and told me that they were glad I shut him up. Was a right or wrong

I believe you were right in telling him that you were not going to put up with him bashing the United States. Hopefully all citizens of the US would not tolerate that. If he disagrees with the policies of the present administration there is a time and a place to voice that as part of our wonderful heritage is based on the principal of free speech and the right to dissent. On a tour in a foreign country is not that time or place. What I find much more telling is this comment you made: Quote: openly gay person from Seattle Washington, What does his sexual orientation have to do with the incident? Would you have made a comment if he was an openly homophobic individual?

Good eye ID, yes the fact that he was openly gay made him even more annoying. Yes I am sick of every time I turn on the TV or go to the movies they are throwing homosexuality in you face. However, this did not have any thing to do with that, I just wanted to paint a picture of this person. I would have treated him very well otherwise

He sounds like a little bitch that just wants attention. Good thing I wasn't on your tour. I would have shut his ass up right quick. You should have told him that if the US was so bad, then leave. Maybe he would feel more comfortable in China where you get executed for selling $4 of drugs to your friends? Maybe he would prefer muslim countries, where a woman's vagina gets mutilated and stitched closed for looking at other men? These women die of toxic shock syndrome. Perhaps, he would feel more comfortable and welcome in the more stable countries in Africa?

I think you did the right thing. Hmmm I wonder what sort of legal problems could possibly come from punching a fellow american in CR? Whatever the consequences it would probably have been worth it with that particular...um...gentleman. Niko

I have heard from local lawyers that assault between two men is NOT a crime. It is treated by the Police like a hockey fight. They wait until you tire yourselves out and just scrape your up. There is no ticket and no court hearing. Now, if you are a gringo and dumb enough to assault a tica. Thats a different story. The cops will beat you senseless and then rob blind.

Gino, are you getting tough or what . OIf course you were in the right. As an ex service man I always share this with people. If you do not like the US you have the right to say so and THE RIGHT TO LEAVE! You are out trying to have a good time I would not have put up with that one bit. Chowbella!
