Many of you knew Gaby, the backbone of the HDR. The extremely friendly person who you usually saw in the lobby surrounding by employees, customers, vendors, etc.. Unfortunately you will no longer see her smiling face in the lobby as the employer/employee relationship she had with the HDR recently ended. |

Doesn't surprise me. I had heard she was on suspension for 2 weeks when I was there on the 19 thru 23 this month. Heard Big John was not happy with her. Something reference her new boyfriend being a pharmasuetical(SP) salesman. |

Now why would he object to a pharmaceutical salesman?  Perhaps he might really be a drug salesman

I talked with my novia ( if i am can still say novia on this board ) today and she said that there is still a chance she may be back in january. It is/was her boss and she likes her alot. she doesn't understand what happened. Everything is hush hush. stay tuned... drama in HDR.

Not a blonde. She is a very pretty brunette. My guess is late 40's. I don't know about a boyfriend. she is married to a gringo (to the best of my knowledge) she runs a tight ship, which is important when running a business. I think Big John will have some growing pains if he loses/fires her. By the way, Gabriella advise to all the bartenders: get a gringo boyfriend, milk him for as much money as you can, then dump him. She is very serious about this. |

well that explains alot apparently one of the tricks for the bartenders that do not drink or like to get drunk while working there is usually a bottle of grey goose or patron that is filled with water if you buy drinks, they may or may not drink from that bottle so they do not seem to be getting drunk |

If indeed Gaby was fired I am rather surprised. As previously stated, she has been the backbone of operations at the HDR. She and Katherine of the Presidente are the best, brightest and people oriented managers I've seen in CR for many years. There had to be a real good reason if John did fire her.....he's not stupid, difficult to work for yes, but he and Greg are savy business men and are very aware that excellent operation managers are not easy to find. It's probably been several years ago, during our conversation over breakfast in the old restaurant, that Gaby somewhat indicated to me she was not satisfied with her salary. Yea, that is a universal complaint but she seemed adamant about it. She reveals very little about her personal life, at least to me, so I never got to really know her that well. What I did learn is this is an intelligent woman who definitely knows the business. I hope that she returns but if not, her skills and linguist abilities will perhaps afford her a better opportunity outside the gulch. |

She is really a bright with the program type of woman. I sure have seen her shut down guys flirting with her but she always did it in a class way. She has always been pleasant & nice & all business no nonsense type of woman so I do have a lot of respect for her. I hope this is not true & she is only on vacation  !
She has seen a lot in her life ! I would love to know what she really thinks about men  . I have that warm fuzzy feeling she probably realizes most of us are a pack of wild dogs at least in the gulch  .

Gaby is not on vacation to the best of what I can find out. Her brother was fired from his baggage handling job because of putting some powder up his nose on some occasions while working. Her ex-husband (or soon to be ex) was fired from his accounting job in the DR office for messing with chicas there. Last, but not least,Gaby,as hard as it may be to believe,was and is messing around with a "pharmaceutical dispensing taxi driver". All this info comes third hand from a very reliable source (not just word on the street) who heard it directly from Big John. |
