I have a suggestion about scheduling special events, i.e. SB Tours, and other parties. My suggestion is to try and schedule these events when it is easier to travel. For example: A week or two after Thanksgiving; After Christmas, etc. Also, Bill at SL does an awful lot for CRT and out of respect for him, I wouldn't schedule events that would conflict with known activities at SL such as Super Bowl parties. This is kinda selfish, yes, as I really want to do a SB Tour, but there are others I've spoken with that also can't travel during the holidays, that would like to get in on those special events. Thanks for the consideration. |

Most of the special "events" in the past, have been scheduled by specific CRT members, who plan on being in town, on certain dates. In addition, many of the events are planned on special dates and/or weekends, when it is already known that lots of members will be in town on those certain dates. All the planning and preparation for these events is done on the members' own time, at their own expense. With a membership nearing 9,000 members, it is nearly impossible to schedule an event that would work with everyone's schedule(s). At any given time, throughout the year, there's going to be CRT members in town. Just check the Roll Calls Section. IMHO, if you want to partake in a special event and/or tour, take the bull by the horns, and start the ball rolling yourself. Just make plans for when it fits within YOUR travel schedule. You'll be sure to have (at least) a few guys that will be around and would be interested. YMMV..... Plus, if you can plan your travel schedule ahead of time, that's a big advantage. There are always certain dates, and times of the year, when you almost know that there'll be something happening. Some of the popular dates (or weekends / holidays) in the past, when there are usually quite a few members in town have been: Christmas / New Year's Superbowl Weekend (next year - first weekend of Feb. 2007) Memorial Day Weekend (next year - last weekend in May 2007) Labor Day Weekend (next year - first weekend of Sept. 2007) Halloween (next year - Wed. 10/31/2007) There are several more popular weekends throughout the year, but these few were off the top of my head.
