Right next to the Del Rey hotel is what looks almost like a residential house, white with blue (I think) trim. Does anybody know what it is? |

LK, there is a little house between the HDR and the Colonial Casino. I noticed it way back on my 1st trip (and still want to live there.) ![]() It's very well kept and gated, I figure it's part of the HDR property, (pretty sure it's actually connected to the hotel) and maybe where the one of owners stays? I've heard the owners work in 3 month shifts and wondered if they just stayed in the casa while in town, although I'm sure they all have a palace in the hills somewhere aound SJO too. Shouldn't be too hard to find out, somebody down there ask the bartenders. And see if it's for sale! ![]() |

In my 25+ trips to CR, I have never even noticed the place. And I've walked to the Colonial uncountable number of times. But, now that it is mentioned, I know where you are all talking about. Be interested to know what the place is. dapanz1 |

I have noticed it before and thought it would be a great spot for the Policia to have a Sattelite station |

In my inimitable style, I put it on the back burner and forgot about it. HOWEVER, having been reminded, I shall try to make some inquiries. I'm too shy to go knock on the door, though. But I will ask bartenders and so forth. |

Well I solved a little bit of the mystery today about the house in between the Del Rey and Colonial. As I was walking out of the Colonial this afternoon there were two men at the gate to the house. I stopped and asked in my Spanglish who the hell lives there. He said the the man that lives there is not affliated with either the hotel or casino. As he was telling me this a black SUV Isuzu drove up and out walks this 50'ish Costa Rican I said Hola and he said Hola and the gentelmen at the front gate walked him up to his door. So it appears to be just a residential house in a great location. I wonder what that house is worth????$$$$$$ ![]() |
