Hi Guys,

I just returned from a fabulous 6 day weekend ;-) in CR. The no cien rule must be taking hold at the DR because I got at least half a dozen chicas tell me $99 LOL. Anyway, I actually found the prices to be easier to negotiate than on previous visits. Either I’m getting better due to my continued education or there really is deflation there.

On another note, I wanted to share a story with you guys that have a regular or who think that a chica is really in love with you. I was visiting with a buddy who is Spanish but looks like a gringo. One night at the DR a chica caught my eye. She was a tall, slender, and blonde and looked very classy. She was well dressed and the thing that set her apart that she did not show much flesh. A novel idea at the DR… She could speak fluent English and she was a bit older than most there.

We sat down and introduced ourselves. Her name was Samantha and she was there with a friend. We had not been in the conversation for too long when she started conversing with her friend in Spanish not knowing that my friend was also fluent. My friend then motioned to me to go and get a drink. We excused ourselves and got up and walked to the bar. He then told me what he overheard.

Apparently, this Samantha was educating her fiend on “dumb gringos”. She went on to say that all you need to do is get one of these guys to like you and act like you like them and then you can stay in Costa Rica and milk them for all they are worth. You can get the really stupid ones to send you money every month and you can live a good life while these “dumb gringo’s” are paying for it.

I know I should not be surprised by this but I was a little upset that someone would talk about it right in front of us. We ended up going back to the table and started talking to them again. When they asked for a drink, my friend turned to them in his fluent Spanish and told her that since we were just dumb gringos, perhaps she would like to buy us a drink instead. It was priceless! We then got up and walked away.

There are a lot of great women in CR and some I’m sure will actually like you but I’d recommend you stick to the pay for play rule.

Ah, Samantha! I had my eye on her for the longest time, but the vibe I always got was that she was an icecicle. Thanks for confirming my opinion. As far as your larger point, you are right on the money. The girls love long distance 'boyfriends.' If somebody would pay me to write syrupy emails, I'd do it too.

Look it is all a seedy little game in the seedy side of town & I see using this to one's advantage if you like the Chica that is pulling this type of deal. Act Stupid but don't be stupid. Let them bait us with all their BS to get them to show you the best time thinking they are hooking you in but in the end you out act them & never become their sugar Papi. I pay them what is fair don't go overboard in any way but when you find them playing this game I feel turn around is fair play. It is very good to know the language like this. You can use it so many ways. I look very Gringo also so most talk away in front of me. Later I have my fun :twisted: .

They hate being out played by a stupid Gringo believe me. Their is only one way to play this game too me & that is be nice but realize it is survival of the fittess & 99.99999 of what you hear is BS. Well maybe not quite that high but better to be safe than sorry.

Anglotime.... what was their reaction to that? That must have been priceless.... wish I was there.

Funny.... they call us stupid (in a different language) right in front of our faces.... loud and clear. Yet - they know some of us speak spanish. IN addition, they are service providers and completely dependent on our business.

Now who is really being stupid? LOL...

It was priceless! She had absolutely no idea because I was the one that started the original conversation. It was like someone smacked her straight in the face and then we just got up and walked away.

My experience with most of the chicas has been good in the past. Never a hassle and I try and treat them well. I never treat them like pro's, I always treat them like ladies and that's why I was so surprised that this one was so blatant about this.

Good advice from Zippy too. You may "Act Stupid but don't be stupid".

Ah Yes, good old Samantha has changed her hair color to rubio
pero she has not changed her TRUE Colors.....

I've enjoyed myself the past two weeks watching her ply her
trade on Newbies and others who are thinking with the little head.
When aproached most don't want to hear the warning...

Hola Anglotime ! I had a similiar experience with what I believe to be the same Chica. She wears long flowing skirts, light skinned, long hair and carries herself with an air about her (nose in the air). I remember that she was from Panama. She didn't know that I am pretty fluent en español and converesed with me in english and her friend en español. I was lovin it and enjoyed the game. Although she was very attractive, I had to pass due to her cold attitude and surprised her when I began speaking to her friend en español. Her face at that moment, priceless

The Transylvanian Twit is a Romanian ex-model and somehow a fulltime resident of CR . She might have 'married ' a Tico for convenience.

She has been around the Del Rey for at least 5 years.

Ex model!? No offense Cyg but I find that a little hard to believe (especially if it came from her hideous mouth.) But then again she may have been hot-stuff in the eyes of the hunchbacks back in the "old country" on the cobblestone streets of Transylvania. :lol: Rumor has it her husbands name is Quasimodo, and she has a son, Igor.
