How many times have you been in the DR when a chica approaches, asks you the obligatory questions: where you stay, how long you here, you want company.

Before she even approaches you, you don't want her company. You answer with the obligatory anwers and she says of course, you want company?

You politely refuse. Her next question is how about a drink?
It is a no win proposition, you don't want to buy her a drink and you know when you say no, she is gonna pout and act like you are a cheap a hole.

I just say no.... How about the rest of you mongers? How do you handle this?

If I tend to like the chica asking me for a drink, sometimes I will tell them "yes, if you want a domestic beer, I'll buy you one, but no exotic drinks."

I guess this is why they call you King...... wait, you call yourself that. Just kidding. I don't have a problem saying no. I got back yesterday after 7 nights. I said "NO" several times. Although, I did tell this one chica.... cafe con letche... agua....jugo..... no booze. She complained she didn't like any of those drinks. Whined like a baby. She got nada from me. I wasn't interested in her anyway. I refuse to fill up a chica on my dime with booze even if she interests me. The last thing I want is a drunk chica barffing on my sheets and other things!

Well King good topic & you sure have their exact lines down. Many of them that is about the extent of thier English skills. I am pretty blunt with them all. I know who I want to be with & who there is NO WAY even if they are free I wouldn't waste my time. Most the Pros have seen me before & don't waste their time either. They know I will simply tell them I don't want anything THANK YOU. When they ask for a drink after this I just roll my eyes. I don't see what is wrong with cutting them short after all in their culture this is rude & a women is not suppose to ask the man but the man ask the women.

Many men may be in such awe that a younger woman is in their presence that they feel it is an honor to buy them what they ask for. I see it as they are simply trying to use me. The ones I see that are polite & not pushy most these do not speak English which I prefer I will ask them if they want a drink to show my interest. One drink is worth the investment to more normalize everyone's existence.

If the Pros start seeing you are an easy mark lookout & be prepared to deal with the flood. I just don't see giving anyone any hope of being with you if you know they are not your type. I also don't like jerking them around flirting making myself feel wanted & popular knowing all the time I would never go with this one. Why waste any body’s time?

If I'm using her time then I'll buy a cheap drink. If I'm talking to her and don't really want her company and she asks for a drink, I say "yeah, anything for you baby, what do you want?" then I disappear into another area of the HDR though lately I've managed to avoid the HDR quite a lot.

I don't drink much, but feel I need to be drinking something in the HDR so I switch to OJ, but then OJ gets really old so I do wonder how non-drinkers or other lite drinkers like myself deals with the HDR (I don't gamble either).

Paco

I like your idea best. But the question I would ask you is where do you hide from all those angry chicas?
They already know your hiding place at the Presidente.

Greetings KC:

I personally do not buy drinks for just any Chica but there have been a few times that when I have been out at the HDR with my Spratt, and she will ask me to buy her girlfriend(s) a drink. I make it clear "house drink" and generally they will respect that request.

There have only been two times that a Chica abused that request. Let me tell you, Baileys is expensive in the HDR. After getting the bill for that blunder, I now speak up quickly when one of them starts ordering Baileys. I simple tell the bartender that I will not pay for it, but I do offer a house drink to them. Most take me up on the offer. I hate to think of myself has a hard-ass, but if I’m not correct Baileys in the HDR cost over three thousand colons.

Granted when mongering it acceptable to buy a Chica a drink, sometimes it softens the negotiations and price. It’s better to find out what she’s like in the bar, before embarking on a toda la noche. I also think that by what they order sorta tells you what to expect when she starts quoting prices. If she’s ordering Baileys, this could be a good indicator that she will quote a higher price the say a Chica who’s a bebedor de cerveza.

Latinoheat is up on the price of RedBull & Vodka since that's his favorite drink to buy for chicas :D what is it like 4500 colones now LH?

What ever the cost of a drink.

IMHO: I do not go looking for a dinking partner in the HDR when I'm mongering. One, maybe to pleasant drinks before getting down to business is the norm for me. I do not want to get them drunk, just loosen them up a little. I found that the price tends to drop when they become comfortable with the situation. The whole reason behind buying the drink is to find out if you (click) with the Chica.

Newbies:

This is a good thread to read before you get socked for several hundred dollars worth of drinks for these chicas and her buddies before you even get to the hotel.

4,500 colones is around $9.00 per drink.
