I was thinking of a new year’s trip. I did a little research and found that New Years Eve can be slow. Since roll call does not go back that far. (And I have a bad memory) is that weekend popular as maybe Memorial Day or the 4th weekend. Is there anything going on like poker tournament, or a tour? |

IMHO, don't do it. Many of the chica's spend the holiday with their family and/or at the beach. There's always going to be a few coming and going to the BM, but it is much slower during that time. As far as CRT events, I don't recall that weekend being a big "party" type of weekend. Good Luck & have fun. Mucho Gusto ![]() |

what a friend of mine has told me about the x-mas thur new years dates ...that its a great time , plenty of ticas and they have a big party while closing down the streets and all the locals(lots of girls) are on the street drinking and getting crazy..so since i know he was there during those dates last year and he is booking his trip for this year....it must be pretty good !!!maybe a place like JACO BEACH could be a bust...but i think that place sucks anyway....i would not take a trip there...again i would prefer it slow ...the b.m. will always be busy...key largo will be up slow or busy during anytime of the year ...and the local m.p. places i dont really think those places will change during those dates ...maybe on x-mas day....or x-mas eve |

Chilimike: I think the bash you are referring to takes place in mid December and it is a good time from what I have heard/read, but I can guarantee that the time between Xmas and the first week of January is pretty slow as I have been there the last two years. ![]() ![]() |

was here last year from 12/26 to1/2. The activity was great straight through. On New Years Eve, unmlike the US many of the girls went home around 10 to be with family. Key Largo still was a load of fun. The girls are all very broke from Christmas and need money. |

I understand you are relating what a friend told you not personal experience but this year will be my fourth Christmas living here and have never seen or heard of the fiesta he describes. Only thing I can think of that would come close is the fair in Zapote at that time. Perhaps you might get some more details from him and post the location. |

The Festival de Luz Parade sounds like what he's talking about and last year it was on Sat. Dec. 10th, My guess is this year it will be on the 9th. And no the BM and MPs are not "always busy" look up some trip reports of us that have actually been there during Christmas and New Years.

what my friend told me is they close off the street near the park and have a horse and float parade though the streets ....could be before christmas maybe dec 20th or somewhat close to that date ...but this guy swears by it and he so far he has never feed me aline of bull shit ....so if he says it happen ...then it must happen...as he has ask me a few times on this last trip to try to make it down during the x-mas holiday....i can send him a e-mail and get exact dates ...as you say , you live in san jose and i think its something you would enjoy....he said its the best chance for a gringo to score with a local non pro girl as the day is one big party.....sounds good to me ....as with 6 trips under my belt i am starting to look more at the local girls and trying to improve my spanish skills ...some of the girls i have met at key largo want to go on reg. dates away from the bm and kl ...they like a nice dinner and a nite at the disco....i had such a date lined up on my last trip.... |

The Festival de Luz parade is a great experience, quite a few of us were there last year on Dec. 10th for the parade. There is also a horse parade(which IrishDrifter mentioned in another thread) that was on Dec. 26. The festival with the bullfights in Zapote is also a must-see, usually runs from Christmas day through New Years and only about 10 min. from the gulch. As far as ChiTownGino's original question things are slow until after the holiday, in fact SJO was a ghost town on New year's day. Do a search for the "Loser tour" or "Oscar Mayer New Year" to read about our fun holiday. ![]() |

Am sure he is talking about TOPE & Carnival which are held on December 26 & 27th. While there might be a shot at some local girls the P4P scene is very slow. After Carnival the town is very quite. There are always a few chicas around but not a lot and the selection is limited. If anyone asked me if they should plan a trip to CR that week I would say NO unless off course I did not like the guy ![]() |

I'm a fan of the festival de luz. It is definately BEFORE christmas. Also, if you do go down between christmas and new years, you gotta go to Zapote. Lots of drinking, dancing in the streets and many, many (uncountable many) hot Ticas to be found. The bullfights are something to see as well. dapanz1 |
