If you are going to CR... There are some copies on CD of the entire Pilmsluer Spanish I, II & III, all 90 lessons, in MP3 format... Free for the asking. Just ask Johanna at the front desk, their in the closet behind the desk. Madhatter |

Bearshare also offers a free version that is a little slower and has a lot of advertising. (It got so bad that I moved to an earlier version). Bearshare has a lot of good stuff, I just found an ebook of all 10 vampire books by Anne Rice. |

Thanks guys. Bearshare seems to have downloaded some "Search Aid" that throws pop-ups up. Apparently I agreed to it in registering for Bearshare. It wasn't hard to take it off, and Sharebear looks like it's got a lot of good stuff, but throught I'd add this point of information. |

Yeah, all of the pop ups are annoying as hell. I got rid of them as well. dapanz1 |

I use: http://shareaza.com/ It is completely free and completely free of any adware of any kind. If you use it, sometimes you have to make an adjustment to your router for it to find more files on the P2P networks, but after the adjustment, it works great. The adjustment is in their FAQ - like everything, you only have to take some time to understand and after that it is easy. It works perfectly. I've download Rosetta Stone using it, but a word to the wise is that it takes 2 weeks to get Rosetta Stone downloaded (it is huge). If you have questions about downloading this software, let me know. Rosetta Stone is the best of the best! It teachs with pictures, sound, and the written word. You'll learn very quickly with it. Pimsleur is good, but Rosetta Stone is still 99% better. * |

I just downloaded Rosetta Stone Spanish 1 & 2 from Morpheus. I used WinAce to extract all of the files, but I can't seem to open them. The files are type .SWA Does anyone more computer literate than I know what type of program or software I need to open this type of file??? I would be mucho apreciado for any assistance. ICE |

* The last time I used shareaza I got slapped by my ISP for file sharing. I did not realise it at the time but it was sharing any files I had downloaded. There's no way to turn it off either. For some reason that I don't remember, just moving the downloaded files to a separate directory did not help. |

The Rosetta Stone language files will be ISO files and the application will likely be compressed into a zip file (I have v2.0.8.1 of the application). I'm not sure you'll have to deal with any rar files. The application runs the language ISO files from DAEMON. To use ISO files, you best download DAEMON. ISO file are images which means the computer thinks it is accessing a drive. DAEMON accesses an ISO file that is stored on your HD and makes your computer believe it is a drive. I'm not sure I explained that very well. I'm not sure what SWA type is, but a quick internet search should reveal it ("swa file type"). I stand by shareaza.com - never had a problem with it at all. * |

FYI, I would not use www.Bearshare.com unless you want a load of crap on your computer. It installs ads, adware, changes your homepage, etc. Lots of nasty little stuff. Kinda like a dose of the clap! |
