In light of people posting confessional type threads or introspective stuff...

The CRT Board is many things:

reference section (see head librarian Prolijo)
information kiosk (see El Ciego)
budget guide (see RBC100 and Californicationdude)
confessional booth (see zigmonger and many other fellas)
insane asylum (see nucknfuts, pacoloco, zippy et al)
elks lodge (see DG, Circus or VB: all still phucking studs)
secret society (see all the lurkers who don't post)
locker room (see sparkchaser, pacoloco, handy, latinoheat et al)
short bus (see RHM )
watering hole (where we envy the likes of Ruffy, Muffy, Mucho Gusto, GetRhythm, Sparky, VB, Tman, Gman, JazzMusician et al)

Everyone gives a little and gets a little something different from participating...

What do you get out of CRT?

That makes me feel better. Are you sure PacoLoco belongs in this group?

On a serious note CRT gives me a lot of reinforcement about how screwed up we men really are. Maybe less so than women but we certainly have our own issues (except ME) :lol: :lol: :lol: also. The best thing this site offers I believe is seeing others experiences while not having to endure the pain yourself & to learn from this. Information here is accuate & mostly truthful I find & most members seem to be good hearted men.YMMV. :P

Oh my back to the OVAL OFFICE :shock: . Hard to be a Pinhead 24/7 :twisted:

I can't begin to say how helpfull CRT has been for me since I've become a member. My 1st trip is getting closer....getting exicited. Hopefully I can write a trip report that will not be to boring when I get back to the US.

For me it has become a few different things.

First it was a place where I found men like me and I did not feel wierd anymore.

Then it became a place for me to learn at least book wise about Chicas and P4P.

Now it has become a place where I sadly do a confessional and become introspective of myself as I get closer to my first monger trip and try to justify why I am doing it while still married. ALthough my marriage blows...

Mainly it helps to know that you just not alone out there with your messed up thoughts. Life, women its all too complicated having friends helps out. Yeah we men are messed up but at least I understand this messed up stuff. Sh*t for the life of me I cant figure out a woman's messed up thought pattern for one second.

OK... see I told you its become a confessional for me. Read my last two paragraph rant :roll: :oops: :lol:

Great post - the only additions/changes I would make would be to add Psychman in the budget guide section, and PacoLoco as Archivist, with his invaluable links to important threads from the past.

Amazing how the forum can be positively addictive - even during slow times like now. It's definitely a different sort of animal from the other ones out there.

And to think - I was once ready to give it all up for a chica...what the phuck was I thinking? :oops:

- a high level of conversation, relatively speaking, that I find enjoyable. Lots of very thoughtful genitalmen on this board who take time to reflect on what they do, have done and will do in regards to love, s*xo and life in general.

- high quality, dense, useful information. This board has been an incredible source to maximize one's adventures in CR and elsewhere.

- the level of candor and the ability to have civilized discussion without much ad hominem attacking and flaming that you see on other boards

- the humor, especially the Paco Loco and LatinoHeat putdowns and Circus's self deprecating (not defecating) style of humor (or is he telling the truth?)

- it's not just about Costa Rica, but mongering in general and other ancillary subjects.

- a band of brothers feeling here. I post my reports here rather than the other zoo-like boards.

- chica photos!

One of the best features on this board compared to other boards is that the photos have their own section. It makes it a lot faster to read the board without the photos.
Anyone trying to load photos from a commadore64 would know where I'm comming from.

Thanks to all who post on CRT. Your insights and information are an invaluable guide to my virgin, newbie, trip to CR in October.

For me CRT has become a "Cheers" on-line. While I have never had the pleasure of meeting any of you, I feel like I know many of you. I look forward to the humor, knowledge, insight and wisdom of all.

From my very short time on this board, I really appreciate the limited amount of flaming that takes place, and the genuine support that seems tangible even in the starkness of the on-line experience. As a man, society has taught me not to be supportive of other men. If I do that, I may be perceived as weak (not the Alpha dog that I must be to be a real man). IMHO "flaming" is similar to "road rage". IMJ most people would not do either in a face-to-face situation. It can be done from afar and is safe. It is my ego wanting something for me. Flaming is head thinking (ego). When I have these feelings I take the longest eighteen inch journey a man can take, from my head to my heart. The same thing can be said in a much kinder way. While my ego always wants something for me, my heart always wants to give something of me.

If you choose, feel free to flame me, I'm an old f*rt and can take the heat. I have asbestos lined shorts on.

On my trip I will: laugh often, take a cab at night, sample Pamela @ ZB, tip more than a few, cover the backs of those around me if necessary, will take at least one day trip, and a few hundred other ventures, from the 100 or so pages of your tips I have printed. While I have prepared well from your many posts, I remain very felxible. Also, I will represent North American (and California) in a positive way at all times.

On my trip I will not pay a cien. Why pay a cien por uno, when I can have dos at ZB or more at other MP's. Mr. Johnson (aka Wide Willie) doesn't have eyes anyway. I will not be looking for a novia. I will stay away from the park. :shock: Many more won't do's..........
