Our beloved Ticos try once more,in 5 minutes,to win a world cup game. Just because they can't qualify for the next round doesn't mean that there won't be serious partying if they win a game. |

1-1 at the half. CR scored first then Poland. How come it's depressing when your team scores first THEN the other team ties it up as oposed to being happy when it's the other way around? GO TICOS |

Well the Ticos finish their World Cup appearance with an unblemished record as they lose to Poland 2-1. I'm so depressed I may have to bang one of their sisters tonight. lol |

VB...how are the Ticas feeling tonight? Even though they finished the WC without any points, they should still take pride in the fact that they at least qualified for the WC. Many countries failed to even qualify. |

Vegas Bob, Sorry to hear that result. I have been secretly rooting for CR these past 2 weeks, my Amigos locally did not understand why. ![]() Fiedler |

Looks like the National Soccer team is coming home this morning. They land at Juan SantaMaria Aeropuerto at 11 a.m. National soccer team members coming home today after their disaster By the A.M. Costa Rica staff The Costa Rican national team latched on strongly to last place in its World Cup group by losing to Poland 2-1 Tuesday. Spanish-language newspapers are calling the World Cup a total disaster for the Tico team, which is due to return home today at Juan SantamarÃa airport about 11 a.m. Two other teams in the group, Germany and Ecuador, have advanced to the next level. Both Polish goals came on corner kicks. Costa Rica's Rónald Gómez scored on a free kick. The Costa Rican team and fans in Germany and here hoped that the national team would at least beat Poland to salvage some honor from the World Cup encounter. Some fans griped Tuesday that they would meet the homecoming team with eggs. However, cooler heads are likely to prevail and the team will get a warm but not enthusiastic reception. Next will come extensive discussion of what went wrong. |

Real nice to taunt the coash, the players etc..... Not surprised. saw their poor sportmanship in person in Feb 2005, when mexico punked them, then they just threw bottles and rocks at the Mexican team. I love these little tico monsters, whom turn on their own also. Maybe a group of fat drunkin gringos can represent Costa Rica in the 2010 world cup. Better start getting in shape now, running 100 meters for 90 minutes at a time, is a hell of a lot harder than running 10 meters to the bar, running a block to Mariscal to wolf down a whole chicken, or running after your Del rey chica that just came downstairs after being with her fifth guy this evening, better run to get "sloppy sixes". |

Quote: Costa Rica return home to angry reception SAN JOSE, Costa Rica, June 21 (Reuters) - After losing all its World Cup final matches in Germany, a disgraced and jetlagged Costa Rican soccer team had to face taunts from a group of angry hecklers when it arrived home on Wednesday. Receiving the loudest catcalls was national team coach Alexandre Guimaraes, who emerged from the airport to chants of of 'Dog! dog!' from a small group of unhappy fans. Costa Rica lost 4-2 to Germany, 3-0 to Ecuador and 2-1 to Poland, leading to speculation that Guimaraes, already the team's third coach in little over a year, might need to look for another job upon his return home. One heckler, 65-year-old truck driver Leo Herrera, suggested the players might do better in an industry for which, unlike soccer, the small Central American nation is renowned for its excellence across the globe. 'Sirs: Coffee pickers are needed,' read a sign he waved at the players. 'The only requirement: lack of shame.' Gilberto Vargas, 65, brought a bucket of water, soap and towels. 'Guimaraes said they were going to wash their faces (with Poland) in their last game,' he said. 'But they didn't, so I'm giving him the chance now.' I have a better idea Dogman, maybe the Ticos can take the Colombians method of losing soccer games and just assassinate the players when they screw up. ![]() |

except for the part about wolfing down a whole chicken. I know a guy that eats two whole chickens while he is at mariscal. I guess he needs nourishment to keep up with the DR chicas ![]() ![]() |
