I thought I saw in some forum a comment that there was a self service coin laundromat on Avenida 2 near Calle 5. That is, a block south and about a block or less west of the Presidente. I do not remember seeing one there but I was not looking at the time. Does anyone else remember or could someone who is there now walk over and see if one is there?

Thanks
T

There is a laundromat on Avenida 2 between Calle 7 y 9. Think it is called sixola or something like that.

Another one is on the bottom floor of the arcade on the west side of National theater and Gran Hotel Costa Rica. There is also an internet café there. Enter from Avenida 2.

I use Sixaola Laundry on the southside of Avenida 2 between Calle 7 & 9. It is located about mid-block in the back of an arcade. The laundry provides very prompt and inexpensive service (about 1500 - 2000 C per load). Dry-cleaning is available, too.

The one near the Gran Hotel Costa Rica is:

Roger Pilon, owner.

Self service laundry and cyber cafe combined.

Across the street from the bank and adjacent to the hotel, and across the plaza from the National Theater. Yellow front.

Anyone know of a good ‘wash & fold’ where you can drop-off your clothes in the morning and pick them up that evening or the next morning for a reasonable price.

Hotel Europa laundry service once charged me $52 for a week’s worth of underwear, jeans and t-shrits. There were probably wash & fold places around there that would have done it for less than $10.

DG this is the service Sixaola provides, they charge by the kilo, drop off by 10 and usually pickup by 2-3PM. I travel light and always need a wash by day 4, only a few bucks and the nice señora even sewed a button on for me last trip no charge. :)

If you are staying at the Sportsman's Lodge, you can get your laundry washed and folded/ironed for a nominal fee by the maid staff.

Most of the chicas still wash the old fashion way with a washboard. Go figure?

Thanks everyone for the info. It seems we have Sixaola Laundry for wash and fold and the laundry- cybercafe for self service. Good info for longer times there.
