I believe you have a flawed poll here, since each individual will likely consider himself to be a good guy. better to ask whether he believes that the stereotype ugly American is the rule for travelers at large, and not the exception, again bearing in mind that we are a relatively small sub-group of travelers in general, and I think generally better behaved.

Bingo..This will not get the results to asnwer the question. You can define what behaviors constitutes ugly americanitis, and then ask the brotherhood how many times they have observed this behavior....

The answer is going to be an easy YES because the question is too wide open. Respectful mongering.... what?

We are Americans judging other American behavior?

How would those Americans judge our behavior? I actually think they would think that our behavior is way more vile. Most of us HAVE to think this, because all too many of us keep our hobby in the closet at home and in social circles outside of mongering in Costa Rica as well. A lot of Americans would question one's ability to respectfully take advantage of the poor, uneducated and disadvantaged young girls in a foriegn country.

And, if anyone's justification our hobby as "helping them," I think that these Americans, who we are judging, could most likely give us more honorable ways to help. I mean, there are a lot of poor, uneducated and disadvantaged young girls who are not hookers who we could help. No one is being a good samaritan when expecting something in return (like p u s s y).

Compared to alot of the guys Ive seen stumble into the DR, CRT members are miles ahead in class.

I want to stab the guys that yell across the bar, making pointless rude jokes. IMHO the girls job is hard enough as it is, why do you have to embarrass them with what you say and do? Is it really THAT hard not grabbing her ass or pulling her shirt down in front of everyone?

I never said we aren't helping them. I said that there are more honorable ways to help young girls in CR.... this is the no spin zone! :)

I'm on the plane going to CR and the person next to me says, what are you going to CR for? I answer, I'm going to help young girls in their early 20s and some are even in their teens! The person says, oh how sweet of you! How are you helping these girls? I reply... ummm, ummm......

Wait one minute I find this hard to believe. I like SPINNERS & to me it is all about finding some new spinners to spin. Obvious there are better ways to help young girls in need & I have tried several different ways.. When I was little I use to put care packages together with my grandmother. They included crayons, pencils, Big Chief tablets etc. They were for poor people in Central & South America. We paid for it with our own money & off we sent them! I guess they reconized all that I had done for them because one day I stopped at a place to grap a beer & they attacked me with loving affection! Now days I take myself, every inch of me in person & donate ALL of myself live to them. This appears to me to be what they really want from what they tell me. What more does a man have to give & they seem to take it all?? I wonder which way they like me better?? Any Ideas??

For me I have always liked helping these Latinas even when I was a little boy & it seems like what goes around came around for me since they are helping me now & all seem pleased from what little I know. :P

D2864,

Well it is a true story but I doubt if my Grandmother would approve of my new method of helping them? I would avoid telling her about this if she was still alive god rest her wonderful soul. The truly strange part I feel about all this is the way I help now is probably of more true value to them even though many would not want to view it this way. It is always better I feel for one to earn something than just be given it for free even if they have to use their true ASS-ets to do this.

Why go to all of the trouble guessing :?:

Just start with "Word on the street" and add a couple of names :(

Since there is no culture or evidence of intelligence in Costa Rica it has become necessary to find other ways to entertain ourselves. Come join us... let's play a game!!!

1) Mother Or Sister?
This is where you guess if the young girl holding the baby is the baby's sister or its mother. Not as easy as it sounds here in the Baby-Belt on Pregnancy Planet.

2) Can I Outrun This Car?
If you can cross the street, using the crosswalk and even though the car coming your way has a stoplight, you get ten points. Otherwise, your insurance is useless and you forfeit your life. Fun fun fun!

3) Who Sneezed In My Gallopinto?
Try to identify the foreign matter in your breakfast. No fair using a microscope, that will cost you three points.

4) How Much Will the Taxi Driver Try To Screw Me?
You and your partner have to guess how many colones too many the driver will try to Phuck you over for. Whoever is closest WINS!

5) Guessing Game
You must decide whether the store where you are shopping will charge you the real price or the gringo price. Then the fun begins when you have to haggle to be treated like more than a human wallet. Wheeeee!

6) Where Are My Underwear?
Count your pieces of laundry after the lavanderia is through with it. If you have more clothes left than the other players you win!

7) Pura Vida
Whoever hears the most "Pura Vida"s from greedy, phony, backstabbing Ticos in one day gets the prize - a free plate of rice and beans. Mmmmmmm!

hey, hey, hey, just kidding, c'mon
