Over the last few weeks some gringos at the news cafe have been incredibly stupid and rude. Probably not CRT members but you never know. The tables at the rail are the best in town and almost always in demand. So the other day me and my buddy walk in and at two tables there was a glass of wine sitting there with no people. After watching for 5 minutes or so I asked the guy at the next table if any one was sitting there. He said no but he was "saving"the tables for his buddies. I said no saving tables here buddy and told him to come get his wine or I would drink it. What an idiot. And yesterday I walked in and two guys who were together took the rail seats and hogged 2 tables. Fortunately they left after I was there for a few minutes. Come on guys one table per group and NO saving tables. If you are by yourself take a table but share if asked. I am normally tranquilo but yesterday I felt like knocking those clowns over the rail. |

They probably were saving them for all the chicas they would invite from central ave.. how could the girls resist? |

Could be wrong but doubt that would happen if Hartley was still managing the News Café. Presidente/News Café management has the responsibility of making sure the premium tables are returning the maximum profit possible. Having them sit empty, while being saved, is not consistent with that goal and indicates a lack of awareness on the part of management. A well trained server, who has a vested interest in maximizing her own revenue, would also be aware of that situation and bring to the attention of management. |

There's a good way to resolve these types of issues, but I can't encourage using these problem-solving tactics abroad. 
(Besides, the classy gentlemen of CRT should not resolve problems in this manner.) |

YO Table Squaters: This problem has escalated since the former restaurant manager, Hartley, who made the cafe what it is today, left and the present management of that area is not up to snuff with things. It use to be that patrons would get pissed when the table was cleared quickly but I can understand that due to business practices. I will say that too many patrons including a few CRT members hog the rail without purchasing food or drink.....that's a no no especially during the cafe's busy lunch period. Old Circus has pissed a number of inconsiderate patrons off when seeing them pull this shit.....especially when they were rude to the waitresses. One particular event comes to mind when a favorita waitress of mine was asking two Jersey gringos to relinquish the table after they sat there for over an hour during lunch without having anything except water and they actually cursed at her. For those of you who do not know me I can be pleasant, funny and hospitable but I can also be rather crude in my older age. Uninvited, I pulled up a chair to their table and began slobbering on myself and coughing while jerking my head and shaking a bit. They ask me what the hell was wrong with me. I told them that I had developed a fever and was ill from back packing in the CR southern region. YOOOO, took about one minute and they were gone. Do not try this at home. I have a way of pulling strange shit off but it's getting harder as the years go by. BTW, as usual, I got a kiss and hugs along with good service from my favorita waitress but even she would not let me have any......what else is new. BTW, Orange.......I'm not the ordinary classy guy at times. Again, what else is new. |

YO you two Icons: Thanks DG. Hell, here I am a senor citizen but never entirely grew up. As for class....only on a real, real good day. YO PIDD: Yep, a case of mini vodkas cleared it up. You know me so well. I still crack up when I picture the time we gave each other a bear hug in the BM and all the mini vodkas fell out of my "medicine pouch." The security guys had some wide eyes. As a side note: I saw those two jerks the next day about nightfall at the BM and I informed security that the two creeps at the bar were batidores de mujer (woman beaters to you newbies). Bet they kept an eye on them. Some days it just feels good to be devious. |

At the risk of changing the subject....the absolute rudest and crudest behavior I've ever witnessed from gringos towards chicas was from those very tables.  Made me want to slap the s**t out of'em. If I ran the place, I'd dump guys like that on their ass with a confident belief that the "Gringo Stock" all over the country would go up for having done so.
...now back to your regularly scheduled program already in progress.... |
