`Hello All,

Gentlemen, I have a friend that is a expat living in Panama City.
He is a x Marine on a military disability pension.
He fell in love with a Cuban woman ( living in Cuba) some years ago and has been trying to get her a visa to have her come to Panama and be with him. He even went so far as to marry her. He does not have the money it would take to payoff someone for the visa so he is trying the legal way to no avail. He has had her visa request denied seven times by the security council. The last time they said do not submit another.
He has found out the only person that can override the council is the president of Panama.
My question is does anyone have any ideas that would help he get her the visa ???
Thanks The Nuck

No thoughts on ths visa, but....

1) a gutted '57 Chevy, 14 tractor tire inner tubes, and a pound of beef jerky.

2) patiently wait for the certain demise of el commandante

completely different set of circumstances, but maybe something along these lines. I needed tico employees to come to the US foir training. The US embassy who hands out visas said "we will get to it in a few months". A call to my congressman changed that to less than 1 week. So, maybe if this guy is a US citizen,he still must be represented by someone in congress. Maybe getting her a US visa will help his situation in Panama, or maybe that congressman can ask the US Embassador to Panama to ask a favor of the Panamanian officer that is giving him a hard time, or even ask the Panamanian ambassador to the US for help. If I read your statement correctly, it is panama that is not cooperating, not Cuba. If this guy has friends and family in the same district, they can all call/ write the same congressman for help.
Good luck

Getting a Cuban a US visa is just not going to happen. If there was any possible way to accomplish that there would be no rafters risking their life making the journey.
