Occasionally people ask about living in Costa Rica. They have visited and stayed in the gulch and explored the central valley some perhaps even gone to the tourist spots on the pacific side.

However, they really want to know about the less traveled rural areas of Costa Rica. The following piece although written about rural Mexico has a lot of similarities with Costa Rica particularly with the laissez-faire attitude of the people and the government.

I would love to live that way. Then travel back to the US for a dose of reality. Then head back to the simple life.
