Does the Dominican Republic qualify?

If any these countries were competing, I'd add:
    Peru
    Chile
    Uraguay
    Paraguay
    Honduras
    El Salvador
    Suriname
    Ecuador

Suriname is Dutch. Along with Belize, Guayana, and French Guayana, it is not considered part of Latin America.

The Dominicanas go nuts over beisbol. Last weekend while in Jaco the WBC was on the big screen in the Beatle Bar. When the final out was made and the Dominicans beat Australia the place went NUTS! The Beatle Bar was filled with Dominicans and Colombianas. The really take their sports seriously.

While American youngsters are playing baseball and soccer and golf and tennis and lacrosse and football and basketball and video games (sandlot ball is no more)...

Young latinos are playing beisbol, beisbol, beisbol. You can tell by their up and coming dominance.

Absolutely RHM,

I used to coach Little League BB and I could hardly get the player to come to the games much less practice. They were involved in so many things that they had no commitment to BB. When I was a K*D when we got through with a game we beg them to leave the lights on so we could play a pick up game. When we didn’t have practice we were playing at the field. Now they have to much to do. We will end up being mediocre at all sports and dominating few.

If you ever get a chance, check out a beisbol game in Managua at their Estadio Nacional. It is a frenzy from the opening pitch. Marching bands, singing fight songs, whistles, banging on seats, etc. You have bever seen anything like it. The best part is that you can get a ticket to the game, food, and a half dozen beers without spending more than $15.00. It appears that our pastime has now become Latin America's as well!

Mikey,

I can't forget about it. I played college baseball and got a shot with the Reds. I started coaching LL with the thought I'd some day coach my son. To this day we've played catch once and he's 17. Disappointed.. sure but he has won Halo tournaments and is a completion skater sponsored by a skateboard company with a shot a the X games. Both thing I could never do. He is also lead guitar in a band and gets all the girls (free). Makes me proud everyday. I just wish we had more in common. We do fish together, which is a good thing. Last time out he caught a 36lb and 28lb Redfish about 15 minutes apart. That was fun.
