Is it me or does it seems the chicas get sick all the time? Doesn't matter if they're Ticas, Nicas, Dominicanas, etc... but it seems that they are in poor health because they always seem to have "gripa." In the US we get "gripa" during the winter months, but in Costa Rica, the chicas are afflicted even in warm weather. Or as they like to say, "it's cold" when it's 75 degrees. The bebes seem to get sick a lot as well. Anyone know as to why this would happen in a warm climate? Another thing... my novia has been really sick for the past week. Headaches, nausea, vomiting, fever, cold sweats, can't sleep, can't eat anything and what does she do about it? NOTHING!! I tell her to drink some hot tea, take some medication, see a doctor but she refuses to do anything about it. She's in bad shape. This seems to be how some of the chicas deal with it. When i spoke to her the other day, i asked if she laid in bed all day and she got upset with me for asking. "what do you think, i can sleep all day when there are choirs to be done around the house. I have to sweep, wash clothes (which they do by hand) and run errands. How can you say something like that when you don't know what you're talking about?" i was like damn girl, i was just asking, because here in the US we call in sick and hide under the covers for a few days. I guess we have it made. She was really upset because i asked a simple question. She is one of those proud, stubborn women... i guess. I don't get it. |

The only time I heard the old "gripa" excuse was when I had a feeling that they didn't want to do BBBJ. They would say that their throat hurts or they have an infection and don't want to pass it to me. Once, I got pissed because she first said yes to BBBJ then in the room got gripa all of a sudden. So I told her that I have magic leche that will cure that shit. ![]() (She didn't think it was very funny, but I was rolling after I said.) But these chicks don't eat too healthy as far I've seen and a lot of them don't sleep very much, after all they are out all night. So their immune system can't be that strong to fight off these little bugs. |

Maybe this is a bit bold for a newbie to throw out there, but are you sure she isn't pregnant?! ![]() The answer could be based on the climate. They get a lot of rain there, which breeds germs in warm weather. I live in the north east, we are having a mild winter and more people are sick than usual, probably because we don't have the snow and sub freezing temps to kill some of the disease strains. Just a guess though. |

Orange brings up an excellent point. I noticed that daytime temperatures vary quite a bit with nightime temperatures and they seem much subseptible to these chages than we are. Moreover, their diet does have a bit to be desired. They don't eat much... if they did, with their Latin genes they would tend to gain a few more pounds which would not help them look as hot as they do. And remember that they take their clothes off quite often during the day. Just as any Exotic (GoGo) Dancer if they are in good health all the time and you'll get the answer to the CR girls' unfortunate health predicament. In my Latino HO. Muffdiver |

Meaty, it is possible that they could be pregnant. Highly unlikely that a good percentage of the chica population gets sick at the same time. (Read, pregnant at the same time) I know one particular chica that gets "gripe" often. On and off with the clothes, temperature changes. Having lots of sex wears down the immune system as well. Particularly when the sex is work and not pleasure. And TP is correct, they usually don't do anything about it. In fact, they usually go to work as usual and spread it around. Kinda sucks but that is the reality. dapanz1 |

It has to be something in the dam water or air down there.. Just got off the phone with one of my favoritas, and last night for no apparent reason she became Ill... Sweats, no sleep, fever, some symptoms... Woke up at 7AM perfectly fine... Wierd... She went to the Medico in the AM and got a full blood panel and urine tests done.. this was at 8AM... She was told come back at 12 and she would have full results.. First off, I'm sure she is fine, but want to hear what the doctors say.. Secondly, can you imagine getting all your blood & urine results back in the states in less than 4 hours.. PS... total costa bout $40.00 US.. No I didn't pay the bill, just a friend I keep in contact with. |

Did any of you guys take into consideration all the GUYS who are bringing who knows what sort of germs into Costa Rica and spreading it around? A large percentage of CRT guys got "something" on our Thanksgiving trip to Rio. I brought this very subject up to a women I met down there. I asked her why all of the guys get sick from the girls and she said, "Maybe it's because of all the gringos bringing bacteria to Rio!" Do some research on the spread of germs from one country to another. The flu you find in the northern US can easily be spread to Costa Rica in a matter of hours. It only takes one sick guy to swap spit with one girl to start the cycle. Just as we are not accustomed to their water they are not accustomed (nor immunized against) some of the crap we have here. Think about it. |

Couple of quick points. In the US when you get a cold you say you have a cold. When you get the flu you say you have the flu. When you get a sore throat you say you have a sore throat, etc. In Costa Rica when you get a cold, the flu, a sore throat or any other imaginable illness short of a heart attack or cancer you say you have "GRIPA" I lived in Miami for 25 years so have lived in warm climates. People in Miami get colds, flu, etc. They are not exclusively cold weather ailments. |

I've been to Jaco 3 times and the last 2 times I left Jaco with a cold - first time it was a minor cold and the second time was a nasty cold that made me lay in my hotel for a day and a half. I returned to the US with the cold and it lasted for 3 weeks even with drugs from my US doctor. My take is that the 1 million fans in Jaco that are meant to cool you off are really just blowing around germs and so people are getting sick. One person sneezes and it is blown everywhere! Chicas being sick.... being with so many guys is there any wonder? |

Just one of the hazards of the hobby boys. It's so much fun thinking about all of the STD's and other germs swirling around. ![]() dapanz1 |

Gentlemen The day after I returned from the SB Party I had a sore throat, runny nose and cough. I'll be down next Sunday for a week and I'm going to get my Doctor to prescribe me some antobiotics and start taking them Thursday. Maybe that will help. I'll let everyone know if it did... MD |
