I know a visa for the States is hard for them to obtain but how hard is it for the girls to travel say between CR and the Caribbean or Europe or other Central American Countries?

Much easier. No problems for Ticas entering Panama or Nicaragua or Dominican Republic. Proper paperwork, of course, must be presented. But to get a visa to these countries is easy for them.

OTOH, it is much more difficult for Colombianas to get visas to these countries. Many of the Colombianas working HDR are actually married to Ticos for residency. They would not be able to get it any other way. I know for a fact it's very difficult for a Colombiana to get a visa to the Dominican.

So, in answer to your question, if you are wanting to BYOT in CA or the Caribbean it shouldn't be a problem. A few days to process the visa and a few dollars. Not sure how much, however, I know it isn't very expensive.

When I had a tica girlfriend, I had no problem with her coming to visit me in Panama...they did walk her out to me, and checked my passport and residency. Went to Colombia with my Panamanian GF (VB would call her my wife) and we had no problem. I think mainly it is going to the USA, and Colombianas going into CR.

Absolutely.....but we gotta give him a couple weeks for his balls to heal. He's going under the knife tomorrow for the hernia surgery. And, while he's under, I think he oughta throw the doctor a few extra bucks to give him an extra couple inches!!! :P

I'm hoping that phucker isn't out drinking tonight. He needs to have a steady hand tomorrow, that scalpel will be too close to little orange for a slip.

It evidently much easier for a Colombians to enter Panama legally than it is for them to enter Costa Rica.

Many of the Colombians go legally into Panama and then have a coyote smuggle them into Costa Rica. They work as prostitutes to pay off the coyote and send money back home.

Xman,

I live in the Bahamas so maybe I can help you out a little bit with your plan. Your first problem is going to be trying to get her here without passing through Miami (a transit visa for Latinas is just as difficult to get as a tourist visa). Therefore, your only choice is going through Cuba. You will have to buy her a ticket from Central America to Havana on either Copa, TACA, or Aero Caribbean. Then you will have to buy her a separate ticket on Cubana from Havana to Nassau. This is tricky because you can not buy tickets on Cubana from the U.S. Havanatur sells tickets to/from Cuba and has an office right here in Nassau. You can buy them here on the day of her flight and they will have them waiting for her at the airport in Havana when she arrives there. The other option is much more expensive which involves flying on Air Jamaica from Havana to Montego Bay, and then from Montego Bay to Nassau. The benefit of doing this is that you could buy all of her tickets from the U.S.

As for visas, citizens of nearly all Latin American countries (with the exception of Colombia) are entitled to at least 14 days here without a visa. Here is a link showing visa requirements for the Bahamas:

http://www.un.int/bahamas/Visa_Requirements_List.htm

This may sound difficult, but I have done it many times. Send me a P.M. if you need any more information.

Just for the record Cubana flies from San Jose to Havana and has an office on Avenida Central so it would seem you could buy her a ticket from San Jose to Nassau via Havana on Cubana..

I agree, definitely a much better option if she would be flying out of San Jose. Cubana is typically much less expensive than TACA as well. On Copa, all flights have to connect in Panama, and Aero Caribbean only flies out of Managua. So that would be another plus for Cubana all the way from San Jose to Nassau.

Thanks everyone for th information. It sounds like it might be better to meet in Jamaica. Can you think of any other island Countries it might be easyer to meet in? This is only a thought at this point it most likely easiest for me just to go back to CR but I would like to see other Countries as well.

Thanks
