Planning a trip in a couple of weeks and would like to continue my good habits of working out. Is there a gym close to the SL that i could use to work out.

Sinjin,
Send a PM to GetRhythm. He had researched this a while back, and found out about a couple gyms near the gulch that you can pay by the hour to work out.....
Good luck.

Typical San Jose workout should include:

At the SL, about 3 one hour cardio sessons each day with one of the personal trainers from the bar area. They will come to your room and help you. Actually, some resistance training will occur with multiple squat-thrusts. I always look for the 2 trainer special, for a more intense workout.

Weight training between cardio sessions with many high rep sets of 12 oz curls.

If you need to get in some speedwork, there is a road course from the SL to the DR through Park Morazon open after dark. I believe it is about 1000 meter course, best for sprinting. Some CRT'ers (Underdog) like to walk it and that is permissable.

Zigmonger can turn you on to the street wrestling scene. I hear it is an intense workout.

All that working out will require a trip to any of the numerous massage parlors to relax/rejuvenate those sore muscles.

That should keep you toned for the whitewater rafting, ATV trip, or waterfall tour.

Bill at the sportmens works out at the gym. I believe he goes to the multi spa gym located near parque central. About a 10 minute walk from the DR. There is also a golds gym that just opened at the radission hotel near the gulch.

You can pay by the day or week. I believe the multispa gym charges 20$ a week. Never heard of a gym where you could pay by the hour.

.....or you can always use RHM's workout regiment. It'll also work! (Damn, I like this 'self-quote' stuff) !!!!!

Use the Map from the VIP section...GetRhythm has put it up there and shows where the MultiSpa is located. I went there once with him. You can acutally walk to it as it is not very far, just a few CR blocks.....should also only cost you 2000 colones entrance fee.
