Don't you think accusations of 'phucking up people's lives' is just a teensy bit harsh here (never mind calls to bodily assault)?

To add one more point then I shall never speak again on this subject.....

Never about a venue specific, or specific person, simply about a simple question based off of behavior I saw. Brought it up over breakfast with some people at the time and that consensus left me to ask the broad question. But of course several got their panties in a wad and manipulated the entire original post.

Moving on..... NEXT,!!!

Hey, CRG, reread your first 3 posts in this thread and then tell us it was not about a specific venue(s) and specific people. NO you called no one by name but only a total newbie or an idiot would not know that at one point you were talking specific about me.
Why would I be upset?? In your third post here you flat out called me a liar. Quoting YOU referring to a post of mine "FLAT OUT LIES" Were you there? NO! Did YOU see me enter or in the MP with him? NO! Did YOU hear me recommend a chica to him? NO! Did YOU see me upset and walk out because he did not take a certain chica? NO!

We were in 360SJ together after having lunch together (3 of us). We had met up at a soda 2 blocks from 360--I was not in the SL with them and do not know anything about what they did or did not do there. One was interested in seeing a certain chica at 360 (she was not there). We left there and went to Paseo Colon to the other 360 and while out there we checked out a couple of other MPs out there. We then returned to 360SJ where I believe both of them sessioned with chicas there. I left and went to Relax to session with one of the chicas there.

I had told them having the camera was not a good idea while we were having lunch (after they explained to me what it was-I had never seen one of these cameras before and did not know what it was). I honestly did not pay any more attention to the camera and do not know if they were even wearing it when we entered either of the 360 especially since 360 has a strict policy against cameras and the guard even wands everyone and nothing was said about the camera.
Later when I finished sessioning at Relax and was in the back talking to the manager the two guys came in and one was wearing the camera. I told them we needed to leave with that camera but as we were leaving one of the chicas stopped him very upset over the camera. I told him again, "see I told you cameras were a problem and not to wear it into a MP". He is a grown man and all I can do is voice my opinion about such things. I can not make him nor anyone else do something just because of what I say.

I have for years been a "crusader" against taking pictures against someone"s will or secretly and for sure, posting on the 'net' without permission from the subject. The reason I posted responding to your accusations on this thread to begin with was the fact that you strongly implied that I was "allowing" or "approving" of him or any one else secretly using a camera in an MP. You have also out and out accused me in this thread of "pimping"! Where is your proof?? There is NO proof because it is a total lie and falsehood. Any one that has ever gone on a tour with me will tell you I never charged nor profited from the tours (unlike others but I have never heard you call them a "pimp").

I just love it when people hide behind the anonymity of a social board and make accusations without any proof and then say they did not say what they said. YOU were not present when I walked into any MP with the two guys so your comments in your third post in this thread are totally hearsay bullshit. Since there was only one gringo in one of the MPs that saw me enter with them, I can only assume he is the asshole who told you I was even there (he said you were in a room with a chica). Either he lied to you about what transpired there or you just made up bull shit!!!

So in sum, there was a general benefit to this Thread--some folks had their opinions of other Bros reinforced while the newer members got at least a glimpse of some Prominent Posters. Win-win, from my perspective.

I am going to walk around with a go pro pointed back at me the entire trip. After I session with a young lady, I am going to have her watch my facial expressions on the video. My hope is for her to feel a connection since during the session she was facing the door, pillow, mini fridge, toilet or whatever inanimate object in front of us. It's really all about her and her feelings to me.

bud, it's not that big of a deal! You're letting the forum blow you up. Look, I completely back you up on making the thread and poll. It will send a clear message to future mongers that open display of a camera in monger venues is not acceptable.

But at the end of the day, it's just about a guy that wore a camera, and a forum thread that got blown out of proportion with passion and attitude.

Speaking as one who works as a photographer part time, it is common courtesy to get someone's permission prior to snapping away or recording, but we all know many people have no courtesy in this day and age. There are ethnic groups that do not like strangers taking their pictures or their families picture and you have to respect that request.
If you are at a public event, expect to be recorded by someone, especially in the age of cell phone cameras, cell phone video recording, Go Pros, not to mention government security.
If I see the camera at least I know someone may be recording me and I can choose to behave in a manner that I feel is appropriate for the situation, my bigger concern is that of being recorded and not knowing it. I may be in what I feel is the privacy of my own room or establishment and someone or some entity is recording my behavior without my knowledge.

No, I don't find it harsh at all. Idiots like this do phuck up people's lives, careers and families. We can all point to examples of poorly placed photos on the internet and the damage they have caused. Whether this particular idiot did or not is completely besides the point. I feel completely comfortable painting him with this brush because what possible reason would you have for walking into a mongering spot with a camera strapped to your chest? Cameras serve no purpose other than to take pictures. Should we be assuming that he's wearing it as a decorative ornament because it matches his straw hat and his hawaiian shirt? And how are people supposed to know if it's on or not? If you walked in carrying a replica gun and waving it around should I assume it's a replica just because you know it is? Of course not. I have to assume that a risk is presenting itself, either with the gun or with the camera. The example may be a bit extreme, but the point holds nonetheless. Bring a bag, take it off (big enough pockets or not) or leave it behind when going to places where people are ging to be (and rightfully so) sensistive about pictures being taken. Either that or be prepared to deal with a bunch of angry bros.

This always happens during the SL parties too. A bunch of guys trying to have a good time having to to keep trying to duck photos from yahoos waving their cameras around indiscriminately and without regard for the other people in the room. Just because you're in a crowd doesn't make it ok. It's in a private venue. I wish Bill would ban cameras in the common areas. If you want pics then save it for your room, and get the girl's permission.

you need to broaden the ban to cell phones, as they are all video recording devices nowadays.

You cannot dismiss cellphones by simple virtue of duality ... a camera is a camera is a camera. Public display of a cell phone in a monger environment should be banned, and punishable (as you have already outlined) by physical violence. After all, a goodly amount of those videos and photos that have destroyed lives were made with cellphone recordings.

Of course, this ain't never gunna happen. I doubt you or I would surrender our cellphones to security at the door.

This

short, and to the point, LAD. I like it.

wow, this thread has grown some legs since I last checked it.

I vote no camera.
Just because there are some who want their privacy.

Personally, for me, it doesn't matter.

For the guys getting all upset about it, don't go over to Asia; seems like pictures taking is common place in many of the bars there.
Not much attempt, really no attempt to block out faces in the pics i see get posted.

And to play devils advocate, its not a picture of guy in a monger venue that could possibly ruin his life,
its the decision to go there in the first place,
just saying...

Rule number one of fight club boys........

Bottom line, more pictures and video, more exposure, the more our hobby becomes public. Bad for all, except little slimeballs trying to make a profit.....
