But why would someone at ICE need to hack into anything since they are the government agency that normally deals with those sorts of records. In other words, its their own database.
Are you seriously suggesting the ICE has a database that contains a photograph of every person in the world who has a passport, cedula or some other government issued ID? Because that's what it would take based on your scenario and the narrative of the husband. Here what he said, notice he said, not VB.
Quote:
SHE HAD THE RECEIPTS AND PHOTOS OF EACH GIRL FROM HER BROTHERS FRIEND. I LIKE BLACK OR MOSTLY DOMINICAN GIRLS AND MY WIFE KNOWS I LIKE BLACK GIRLS FROM MY PAST. MOST OF THE GIRLS IN THE PHOTOS WERE BLACK.
You're twisting what I said a little bit and extending it to a ridiculous extreme. Of course, I didn't mean to suggest that ICE has a database that contains a
photograph of
every person in the world who has a passport, cedula or some other government issued ID. But they should have
some sort of record of every person who has
passed through immigration into CR or have had previous dealings with ICE (e.g. previously deported Nicas who might have snuck back into the country). And, being a CR government agency, they MIGHT have the ability to interface with other CR government agencies that have other information on various persons in the country and be able to obtain at least some of that information without having to hack their way into those other agencies' databases. So my comments were not quite as ridiculous as you tried to make them seem.
OTOH, while photos of Ticas might be quite accessible to certain government employees from copies of their photos submitted or taken when they applied for their CR cedulas, photos of foreign visitors who might have even snuck into the country illegally (i.e. bypassing immigration as may be the case with many Nicas) might not be so readily found. However, passport technology has advanced considerably. They now contain barcodes and/or even microchips. So when a foreign visitor passes through immigration and has their passport run through a computer slot, who really knows what information (including possibly the photo) is being pulled into their records. I'm not saying that ICE is definitely quite that sophisticated yet. I'm just saying it may be possible.
BUT EVEN IF IT ISN'T, I was just presenting that as one possible scenario explaining how his wife obtained the photos. There have been a lot of scenarios put forward including that, for some reason known with certainty only to her, his wife LIED TO HIM about how she got the photos and actually got them as others have suggested through the aid of a local investigator.
And even if this guy got this PART of his story mixed up or even made up the story altogether, the point I've been making from the very beginning has been that the CORE PART of his story, that someone at the HDR divulged personal information about one of its guests, is very believable WHETHER IT ACTUALLY HAPPENED TO THIS PARTICULAR GUY OR NOT. The various scenarios that I and others have put forward (about one sloppy desk clerk not following hotel policy, if any such policy even exists, or deliberately breaking the rules when enticed by a sufficient bribe, or even being secretly tailed by a hired PI) are ones that could certainly happen to anyone who was under suspicion by their spouse.

LIK, actually I also noticed that the way he wrote it initially made it sound like he was saying Gabby and Manuel were managing at the Prez, and was similarly confused by it too. Since no one had commented on it, neither did I. However, now that you bring it up, while the way he worded it was poor, I don't necessarily see the inconsistency. After what happened, or he says happened with his wife, he naturally chose a different hotel (actually if I were him I'd have chosen to cool it on my CR trips for a while). That doesn't mean he wouldn't have gone back to the HDR, to confront the managers about it AND simply do all the things that so many of do there at the BM Bar. I'm sure that talking to Gabby and/or Manny, to report what happened and get some answers from them on what they were going to do about it would have been his first order of business. And what were they going to say? "That never happened. You're a liar. Now go away."? Or "I'm so sorry. We'll look into it. There's really not much we can do about that but is there anything else we can do to make it up to you?"? Like I said earlier, if some staff member was bribed and divulged that sort of info, without knowing which one it was or having any way of finding out who it was or proving it was him even if they did have someone in particular under suspicion, there probably really isn't much else that the HDR can practically do other than to appear apologetic and as gracious as possible towards the victim for the rest of his time there, in the hopes they can somehow salvage part of his business (and not get FURTHER burned by his spreading around about their breach in security).
And, lastly, regarding their lack of e-mail response prior to that, should that really surprise anyone either? The HDR, like many CR businesses, is notorious for their lack of responsiveness to e-mail communications. And, in this case what were they going to e-mail back? "Sorry, we looked into it, but weren't able to find who on our staff was responsible. Too bad. Have a nice day."? OTOH, when confronted with it directly face-to-face, Gabby and Manny HAD to respond in some way, and as managers they knew that they had to exercise at least some level of customer relations skill.

Hank, I assume when you said "lies half truths and rummors" that you were referring to the lies, half truths and rumors that some of us tell our WIVES and NOT suggesting one way or the other whether this guy was lying to US.
Broadway, given CR's reputation, wifey may strongly suspect what hubby is going to CR for regardless of what hotel he is staying at BUT if she ALSO knows or finds out he is staying at the HDR then one internet search about that will remove just about any remaining doubt. BTW, I don't doubt that this guy got busted by his wife either NOR do I doubt the STORY he created to cover-up his stupidity. What I doubt is that his wife really completely FELL for that story.
Lee, actually VB said that this guy is NOT a CRT member though, I suppose, that doesn't necessarily mean he hasn't ever viewed our forum and his wife found us that way. I find it even less likely that she found us independently and read through the site sufficiently to find this particular thread about her own marriage but, I suppose, anything is possible. However, if she did then she is showing considerably better research ability than her own husband, who probably would have done very well to read more of this forum before he undertook to cheat on his wife. I agree with you 100%. Very poor job of covering trail. If you are married, then don't stay at a world-renowned brothel and CERTAINLY don't put it on a credit card where your wife can find out the documented evidence. Better yet don't even get married in the first place so you don't have to worry about stupid shit like this.
