RIP Circus, somehow I missed this. Only had pleasure of meeting Circus a time or two but really enjoyed his post in the early years of this site which in my opinion were the best. Too may of the good guys have passed in recent years. Makes us all feel a little older. rbc100

"As I say, I am not really qualified to write a complete, respectful and loving obituary for my friend."

I respectfully disagree, it was well written and from the heart. G*d bless him and keep him, sorry for your (and our) loss.

Great tribute, El Ciego... well done.

RIP Circus... Though I ran into him several times, I remember I only had one interaction with him... Saw him walking past bar I was sitting at and introduced myself and offered to buy him a drink. He said "Phuck no, I got these" and pulled out one of his mini vodka bottles he famously carried around. As he walked away, he said "thanks though" and that was that... my one and only interaction with him. I couldn't help but smile, this was uniquely Circus and part of his unique charm.

Yeah Ruff, you could always hear Circus coming between the clinking of those mini's in his fanny pack and the laughs from the fellows he amused iin his wake.

Its been years since I've posted on this forum (or even visited it for that matter), but when I happened by and saw this thread, I felt I HAD to add my tribute. There's really not much more I can add that has not already been said. You guys have really captured who Circus was and what he meant to all of us. My own history with him goes way back to the CRS days, reading his posts on that board, and then later finally meeting him in person in CR. There are many mongers who in my view are legendary (both famous ones like Don Gordo and several of you who have posted in this thread and infamous ones like Cuba Dave and Soprano), but Circus is truly a special one. We didn't always agree (on our politics or our taste in chicas), but I always respected him and genuinely liked him, and he was one of those rare people who, I believe, just about everybody else who ever met him liked as well. He brought humor and friendship into our world and it is diminished without him. I am truly saddened by his passing. RIP Amigo.

Yes it is later than we think. That is why it is so important to enjoy every minute, and also to get as much pu*sy that you can while you can.

Boys, Brother Circus went out like a warrior......the sun rising above the calm seas off the beach at Jax heralded a beautiful day in the making......fitting for Brother Bill's service.
Held on the beach in front of the lifeguard station where he had served in his youth before entering the service and serving in Viet Nam, the life guards had set up chairs for family and friends along with a bagpipe player.
A lifeguard chair was setup/positioned empty with a red warning flag symbolically laid across the seat to signify Bill's last watch.
After the ceremony, the lifeguards took Bill's ashes into the rescue boat and rowed out beyond the break and scattered his ashes with a symbolic raising of the oars and a moment of silence.
I believe Bill would have liked it.

Excuse the late post, don't visit the website much.
