CR Golfer has been a reliably long time stand up poster who deserves credit for outing "camera man".

The other probable "flat out" was the camera wasn't on. Unless you believe he put it on his hotel knowing he was going to SL with a plan for more of our fun and walked around with the 300 lb gorilla around his neck for hours for no reason.

And there's been only 2 votes in favor of filming, easy to figure who's those 2 came from.

That's another huge can of worms, different in degree because Google Glass can be fitted to necessary anteojos (love that word). When told to put them away, they can hire Bro El Ciego to guide them (the legally blind leading the morally blind). "Heedless of the consequences and thinking only of himself, he...[fill in the blanks]". With rapidly-evolving hands-free tech, this is a guaranteed problem soon (especially given the growing number of utterly self-involved, self-promoting jerks riddled with insecurities whose only way of bringinging themselves up is to bring others down--their idea of leveling the playing field and establishing their importance). Present company excepted, of course.

let's not hijack another thread, you and I.

Golfer fed lots of passion into his first posts, and I think it temporarily set the tone for the next page or two. No harm done. I am not personally inflamed about the posts, or the topic.

The title of the poll is in itself a bit inflamitory, as an innocuous question used to root out a 'guilty' party.

A better title may have been: "Should cameras be permitted in the SL?". However, True Sportsman firmly answered that poll question.

Keep in mind that Bill constantly films us without our permission, under the vaunted heading of 'Security'. So perhaps a change in poll question to include businesses recording us would have seen a different spread between yes/no's. But that would have lessened the impact of Golfer's central message.

No one should be filming us. Film the city. Film the people. Film the girls (with permission). But leave us out of it.

I appreciate CRGolfer bringing up the topic. As more and more young guys head down there, it is good to point out things they may not think about.

How many have, without permission, recorded "sessions" with these birds of the night? I have seen video from MANY CRT homies who have done just that; having set up their silliness in their room prior to snaring quarry and taking back to the lair.

Get real: All the dumb phones being carried around video and secret squirrel dinky little cams have been around for quite some time. This video stuff is not new and is only going to become more pervasive. If you don't want to be a video target, don't leave your house/apt./room/cave/whatever, and be sure to pull the blinds, too.

For all any know, the MP's have cam's in them; all the rooms at joints like Pantera Rosa have 'em; maybe some of "our" hotels have 'em all set up for their own purposes. Who knows is what the bottom line is, eh?

you may have missed the underlying point. The poll is a note to future travelers that outward display of a camera will lead to confrontation. Frankly, if someone films me secretly, I'm not going to know about it, so what do I care?

Thank you, BD for the clarification, but it was not necessary. I understand the underlying point and it's important information for those that haven't much "exposure" to $50 love affairs. Still, you might begin to care about the clandestine recordings once your very own image starts appearing on YouTube; other generally and readily available websites and even in the nether/porn regions of the internet; etc. Imagine what fun your buddy will have exclaiming "BashfulDwarf! Bro! Outstanding! Where you'd pick that thing up anyway??!!" (You'll be going "WTF? What are you going on about?"; and then you're given the link. No thank you.).

As to the future and changing social values and being a part of something change, so can your future. Prime example: being an anti-Nazi hard Lefty in the '30's was OK; by the '50's just being mentioned in the same breath was a career killer and life-destroyer.

He didn't but an attitude devouring certain Bros on this subject might. We're merely alerting folks to current trends, technologies and practices, which could lead some to extreme actions. Nobody here is encouraging that.
