Just to tie up my portion of this thread..here are the answers.

No, I have not been to the DR. I have talked to her mother on the phone several times. Quite frequently, I would be asked to pass on a message from chica to mom...since it is VERY expensive to call the DR from CR, I had no problem doing this. It cost me like 5 cents a minute.

Although she has begged and begged for me not to come back to CR, I'm addicted like the rest of you guys. High probability of return.

Yes, the chica network is long and strong. It would be difficult to hide that one. If I stayed out of the DR she would have a hard time finding out. But, what is the point of going to CR and not going to the Del Rey? If she found out what is the worst thing that could happen? "dapanz, tu y yo no mas." Usually by now I already have my next trip to CR planned at this point I do not.

At this time I have done nothing. I don't even know where to start. I ASSUME, that the quickest way and most efficient way is through marriage. But, I don't know. When it comes to those issues I have to plead ignorance. Therefore, I'm not jumping through hoops to do anything.

OK... I am a little confused.

A. You don't have any plans to marry her.
B. You want to continue to visit CR and go to the DR.
C. Looks like all you accomplished out of this is spending your hard
earned cash to move her back to the DR. I would have to assume
you are sending money to her or her family. Please confirm
D. You will be going to the DR to see her and I don't have to tell you
DR is very impoverished and dangerous.
E. Correct me if I am wrong, but it appears that your primary concern
was to prevent her from working in CR. Seems like you are spending
a lot of needless cash here. She is become the triple cien chica
here when you average the cost of your activities with her.

The primary reason for her moving to the Dominican is for an eventual marriage. I'm taking things a bit slower because I don't know the legals of marrying in the DR, it appears divorce is very easy there. Particularly if both parties consent. Of course, I need to be mindful of the big D and I don't mean Dallas. In the interim, if she starts jonesin' to go back to work, she is free to do so. The ticket was round trip. If all works out, the second leg won't be used.

Yes..and I still contend the probability is good that I return. However, if things were to proceed I don't think it possible to return. Imagine me telling HER I'm going to CR to fish. ROFLMAO!!

So far I have only agreed to buy a new cellphone. No CR phone will work anywhere else in the world.

The is a strange loophole in the visas for getting a foreign lady into the US. It's actually easier to get a fiancee visa (I-129F) than it is to get her a visa once you've married her in her own country (I-130).

Another great benefit of using the fiancee visa route is that once she hits the US the visa is only good for 90 days. She either gets married or has to return to her own country. Sort of a trial period. Allows you to lease before buying.

All other US visas are very difficult to obtain for Domincan Republic citizens.

As for visiting the Dominican Republic, it's got similarities to Costa Rica. Yes, there is poverty, especially with Haitians sneeking in. There is also lots of history there.

Santo Domingo is the oldest capital in the Western Hemispere. Columbus's brother was a governor there.

Boca Chica is a nice beach town (30 Km east of the capital) and has lots of nighttime action. Santiago (mid-country) has the reputation for the most attractive women. The north coast (Puerto Plata, Sosua) can also be fun places. There were a lot of European immigrants there in the 40s and their ancestors have changed the racial mix.
Just beware of your surroundings and you should be fine.

Wit, thanks for the info. Maybe that is the way for me to go. I'll discuss that possibility with her. And for the record, she is from Santiago. I will look forward to going to Punta Cana or a beach town when I am there. I hear it is a very beautiful country. Just a matter of the exact date when I can make it there.

First I want everyone here to know that I requested permission from you to participate in this thread because I have been involved in much of your saga and know intimate details.I give you credit for saying that I could. Now that being said,I have some serious reservations about the path that you are takng. Your novia was talking to me almost on a daily basis while you were in the US. I felt really badly for you because of what she was telling me. She shows me a ring and tells me that you paid $2000 for it. She tells me that you are sending her some money and "doesn't want me to talk to you about it" because I may Phuck it up.(my opinion) She is making a shitload of money at $100 a shot and telling me not to say anything to you because it will obviously affect her gravytrain. (you) She would leave with a Gringo and clearly make the shhh sign to me on her way out the door.You asked me at the time to see if she is making money because she tells you that times are tough. So I give you the answers that she is doing very well from what I see. You choose to ignore my response. There is a lot more I could say at this time but I would prefer that you respond to how you feel about these facts since you have asked us to be specific in our questions. My concern is for you being treated like a sucker. What kind of future to you expect to have being married to a chica that has deceived you throughout the courtship.

I've never met Dapanz1 or his novia so I can't speak specifically about them, BUT, I have been to the Dominican Republic (9 times) and I can tell you there are "working girls" EVERYWHERE. If a girl is "working" in Costa Rica it's a pretty good bet she is "working" in the Dominican Republic as well. It's just not that big of a deal to most of them. It's just "the way it is".

The only reason she wouldn't be working would be the chance of getting caught by family or friends. If she's been to "Riverside" in Santiago,
"Tabu" or "Lapsus" or "Petite Chateau" or "Remington's" or any number of other places in Santo Domingo or Calle Duarte in Boca Chica, she's working.

I don't know the scene in Puerto Plata or Sosua (north coast) personally but I've read the reports and it's just as prevalent as Boca Chica.

Dapanz1, this is none of my business but I hope you take a good, hard, long look at this situation before getting in any deeper. If you're really interested in finding a wife, shoot me an email and I'll give you at least 6 different ways to pursue this.
