The information I found says the ratio of male to female is 1.02 to 1, which means approximately 49.5% of the population is female. The total population last year was 4.579 million, so the number of women was 2.267 million. Divide 2700 by 2.267 million and that gives you .119% of females with HIV, or 1 out of 840 females.

Serious answer: The HIV rate in CR is pretty low so don't worry but after 3 months get tested anyway. Its that simple.

Ricantican needed to consult a doctor for the time being. HIV positive is too bad and I have read that people with IDS also have an increased risk of developing various cancers. Seeing a doctor is his last resort, I think.

Bottom line: as unpleasant as condoms are, they will save you from a lot of other grief, aside from HIV.
