.4% of the population of CR is living with HIV/AIDS (9,700 people out of 4.25 million)
2,700 women in the country have HIV/AIDS
So, someone do the math. What percentage of women in CR have HIV/AIDS.
That would be .06%, or 1 out of 1574 people.
Walk me through your math please.
Using your numbers, divide 2,700 by 4.25 million to get .06%. To get the proportion of 1 out of 1574, divide 4.25 million by 2,700.
Actually, that is the percentage of the whole population. After re-reading your question, I see you asked what percentage of women have HIV/AIDS. The information I found says the ratio of male to female is 1.02 to 1, which means approximately 49.5% of the population is female. The total population last year was 4.579 million, so the number of women was 2.267 million. Divide 2700 by 2.267 million and that gives you .119% of females with HIV, or 1 out of 840 females.
