I will say however that while your "my country right or wrong" approach while admirable seems to be overly narrow.
As to the AM Costa Rica article it quotes a report issued by "Freedom House, Radio Free Europe/Radio Liberty, and Radio Free Asia" along with some additions by the AM Costa Rica editor. Gee what a surprise they reached the conclusions they published. You might also want to check out this endorsement by Jay Brodell, the editor, to get just a small clue as to where his perspective lies.
