MG - this is not about what you do now or how good of person you are. I believe most of the posters and guys going to CR are generally good guys. What we did for BB shows that as a community, we are a decent bunch. But the original post is not about this or any other personal preferences. I’m not a talker but a doer so I won’t list my accomplishments or good deeds that I have accomplish within my community.

I keep repeating this, as a Hispanic male I would have never visited CR. It is the P4P action that draws me in. I will bet that more than 90% of the membership is the same situation. They could not find CR on the map before they knew CR as a P4P destination. I will dare to say that you yourself were drawn to CR initially for P4P, maybe you are the exception but we all get draw in by P4P. Maybe your taste and experiences have grown and expanded and like I said in my post, kudos to you. But some of us are just not interested on anything else but P4P. When I want to go to the beach, there are a thousand other destinations that are cheaper and better that come to mind before CR. Volcanoes, the same. Tours and adventures, sorry but for a guy that use to jump out of airplanes for fun, it is just safer, cleaner and a better overall experience in many other areas of the USA and the world.

Now, don’t take this as a ‘CR suck” rant. I love going. Shhhiiittt, every two months. But be honest with your self and if they would take P4P away from CR, would you still be going? I can honestly tell you that I would not.

Wrong! My 1st trip was in June, 2003. I came with 5 other guys who are on my tournament (fishing) team. These are team members whom I've competed with in tournaments all over Florida, Mexico and the Caribbean with. It was a pure fishing trip. We learned about the chica's after we arrived, on our 1st night. I didn't join CRT until July, 2005. And that's when I made my 1st trip to SJO. I spent the first 2 years, going back and forth from the states to CR, building condo's in Guanacaste. But I still made time to "partake" during my trips.

The first time I travelled to CR (2 years ago) I was with my girlfriend (current wife). Started in SJ, went to Arenal, Monteverde, and a few other places. Wonderful country! Went white water rafting, visited the hot springs in Arenal, did the canopy tour, saw a live volcano, saw flora and fauna I've never seen outside possibly a zoo, sampled the cuisine, etc. Visited the HDR to see what it was all about. My wife and I are planning to return soon to visit one of the resorts by the water.

When I travel to CR by myself, certainly it is the women who draw me there. I can gamble in Vegas. I can drink anywhere. But I enjoy the combination. I will arrive at the HDR about 4-5 pm on the 16th. Clean up, find a tica for an hour or so worth of entertainment, have dinner, gamble, and maybe end up the night with another tica. I will be spending 3 days/nights in SJ and will probably visit with a max of 4 women. Not many in a 3-day period.

So I don't think it's fair to say that all guys who travel to CR have one thing on their mind. For some it's probably not even #1 on the list.

Yeah…Denial is a bitch…I just check the “Non-Gulch Activites & Gambling in Costa Rica!” section. The average post is more than 60 days in between. Check and mate!

Yes, it's abundantly clear that you don't understand!

I bow to your wisdom. Image Please accept my apologies. You are right, and we should not be going to CR to drink in excess, or pay chicas too much, or hang with our friends, or concentrate our efforts on anything else - except phucking! My bad. You have shown us that your way is the right way, and I will accept that. I would be honored to buy you a drink or 3 the next time our paths cross. I owe you at least that much. :?

Thanks again for pointing us in the right direction. Image

What's next  Gringos teaching Ticas the art of baking cookies  Hiking the Orosi Valley with granola bars and btl'ed water, a trip to Sarchi for a day of looking at handmade furniture. Oh the insanity of it all

Josie, you under estimate this group of demented guys. The reasons we travel are as varied as the characters that frequent this site. I suppose you could stereotype us, but to paint a broad brush over many would be like me saying you are from Chicago and therefore a Cub fan, which means you haven't had much joy in October in 100 yrs

I'll give you one example of someone who finds more to do in CR than hobby.Projilo Well travelled throughout the country, taking in the culture and the beauty that CR does have to offer. Take that laptop and jump on the bus to Orosi, there is a little restaurant at the center of town over looking the soccer field. Order a beer, kick back, and wonder if there isn't more to CR than that 1 kilometer sq. area we all know and love.

Well, my bad....I guess some think that drinking beer is drinking.....again...my bad!!!

...by the way....the guy's handle is J0sie....figure out how to get it right....

oh...the horror....the horror...
