The USA, with all its problems, has a court system that allows bail. CD didn't get that chance.
I never heard anyone from the USA pressured CR. The rumor I heard, was CR repeatedly told him to cut it out, he was repeatedly warned, and he took a photo of some upper middle class girl with influential parents who was ho-in' on the side and that was the catalyst for the powers that be to make an example out of him.
Might just be urban legend but I got it from a reliable source who is usually right and who's been here since Cain slew Able and has a lot of contacts with influential Ticos.
He also said (take this with a grain of salt) that officials were asking him who certain writers on CRT were...
Was it true? Did he sing like a canary? Who knows, but my motto is "lay low, make sure your poon tang is of age and no need to take provocative pics..."
