This device, while I'm sure not foolproof, can give extra security to your hotel safe.

I've had mines for 2 years now and never had a problem.

Thanks for this link. I had not thought to research such a device.

Reviews not too good on Amazon

Those Pac Safe bags are good just need to find a good place to secure the cable around.

As I said, they aren't foolproof. Nothing is going to stop a determined theft if they have the time. All these type of devices do is to make it just a little more difficult so that the theft moves onto a different target.

It's like that cable that you secure your laptop with. It is a deterrent, but it is not going to stop a determined theft.

I met Guy one day during my 5 day visit last October. Seems like a really good dude & did help out with a minor problem of my own creation. I would not stay at a hotel I did not like simply because the Guest Services Manager was a good dude.

I read the concerns expressed on the board about the ML before booking at the hotel. That's the main reason I joined CRT - information. I took the warnings seriously & used the casino's safe every day with no problems. Personally, I'm not comfortable with the room safes at any of the hotels.

I have stayed at the DR, LA & ML and would stay at each again depending on my needs at that time.

I totally agree with you about using the room safes. Unless I'm staying at a Five Star Hotel I don't feel safe using the room safes. I actually keep my money in my pocket or find a place to hide it. Or if I have a lot of money I keep it in the Casino Safe. I know it's 100 % safe in the Casino Safe.

Amen.

I've stayed there many times, I prefer it over the other hotels and I've never had an issue. No thefts, no safety issues, no rip offs, nothing. The staff is great, the food in the restaurant is terrific, the bartenders are hot and the rates are MORE than reasonable for CRT members.

There are 1-2 guys who have an obsessive need to bring up the same incident as if there is some sort of ongoing crime wave at the ML. Then there are another 4-5 guys who parrot what they read as if it actually happened to them. Sad.

If you don't like the ML management, or if you need a bombproof safe, stay somewhere else. But this sad vendetta that pops up in every ML thread is a tired act. Grow up.

But fix the WiFi signal for the rooms.

MuffinMuncher is correct... Guys writing about their experiences at Hotels, MP's, Restaurants, Girls, etc. should not be tolerated..That's not what this site is all about.......( or is it!!)

Thanks for the post. The wifi is working now. It has been a problem in the past but not any more.

My Wi-Fi worked fine at ML when I stayed there. The problem is probably the drunk gringos not knowing how to use a computer correctly. Stop cryin' about the Wi-Fi and grow up.

Since the owner of Mona Lisa is friendly with Bill at Sportsmans perhaps he should ask Bill for advice. I've been staying at Sportsmans for over 8 years and I've never had any theft problem in the room. It's clear in the mind of both the employees and the chicas, that if you cause a problem like this, you are gone!

However, Bill is frequently in the hotel and talking to people. If the owner of the ML is trying to manage Mona Lisa absentee, then like in any business in CR, things will go awry very quickly. It's similar to trying to maintain an absentee relationship with a chica in CR, things will go to hell quickly.

As to not complaining about a business behavior on CRT, please remind me what CRT did to Dunn Inn over the Boyd issue and then to HLH and Boyd when Boyd exited Costa Rica. Clearly the blasphemy laws in Costa Rica were violated by the CRT member's comments made about Boyd and/or the owners of Dunn Inn. I don't recall ADMIN warning back then when someone else's ox was being gored.

They should write about those experiences...once. It's the endless rehashing that grates on the nerves.

Jazz--Thanks for the clarification of the CRT posting rules, can see how it might be annoying....kinda like those guys that post-- on every single issue--of every single thread. You know--guys that have posted like 10,000 times...The ones that grate on the nerves!!

Damn, son, do you have me wrong. At least the vast bulk of my postings are usable info or fact-based opinions. I don't espouse rules 'cuz I don't know them but I'm sure I stay inside them--for instance, no personal attacks and that sort of thing.
