Bilko, thanks again for posting about those bars. Maybe if we all promise to say a prayer after every round, the relgious owners will let someone open a new bar at Joe B's. Also, I hope that you are working on your next book, or at least researching it. :D

Maybe the space where Joe B's occupied will become a souvenir shop. San Jose needs more of those

Research never stops! I'm working on a sort of general book about Costa Rica for potential expats, not focused on mongering, as that's been done. But I think a realistic look at Costa Rica is needed, even if it will probably be ignored by the starry eyed newcomers and potential newcomers who want to believe they have discovered Paradise on Earth.

Oh, and a couple of friends of mine visited Richard from the NY Bar at his home in N. California. He seems to be doing alright, looking reasonably healthy and in good spirits, at least during their visit.

If JoeB's is a bar again, I will personally organize a revival meeting every day at five PM.

Are Margarite and Majella there as well, or are they still in CR? I remember after the NY Bar closed, they worked for awhile in the kitchen at Papi's.

They said Margarita was there. I'll have to ask them if Mayela was, I think she'd be more at home here than back there. I'm familiar with that area and it's not very exciting.
