I have to Chime in , here is what I do ..Delrey- Its a shark tank ..I walk around the whole place and spot a girl I like ,I look in her eyes and her body language to see if she is a cold ass bitch or hardcore pro ..If I cant see it then I will when I interview her.. I suprise her and say hello and smile ..they see my cute face and smile back wondering how they missed me  I say can I buy you a drink ? she says yes .. most of the time its a soda which can be good or bad ..

I ask them many questions ,,where you from? do you like this NO they always say .. What do you like?
Eventually I tell them I want to go to my hotel with you ill give you $80..nothing crazy tienes pene como el chinos jajaja whatever makes them laugh ... I say no jugando no propino..ok no soy rico no soy estupid gringo ok? I dont care if they blow me with a condom or not cause HPV is in %50 of all americans and most hookers..

If we get to the room and she starts asking for her $100 its OVER this happend at the sportsman and BILL threw her out he pushed her away and the Big guard was right there .I didnt give her shit ..

if thye are doing drugs or drunk you will have problems ..but back to the post I always pay 80 if I offer 60 its bad and they dont try but I will only pay 100 if its 80 and she rocks my world Ill give her 20 more.. sue me  everyone is poor now nobody is traveling I can see but the lack of posts in the "other then CR" section..there is no way cien is the standard but it wasent in JULY when I was there Jac. I speak enough spanish to communicate anything I want so maybe that helps or im just lucky JG

Lots of good advice here, even from people i normaly dont agree with :D .I will add that my first 3 trips i heard cien alot but most were talked down to 60-80,my next 4 trips i hardly ever heard it and 50-80 was the norm.My last 2 i heard it but most settled for 60-80.Dont fret if you pay cien on occasion as you might find you get more in the long run.Example i paid a girl who supposedly had a bad attitude cien in 2008 since then i have been with her 5 times for 60-70 and,she normaly gets me off twice. An added bonus her friends approach me and never ask for more then 60.

Ahh, the old cien argument. I would post my usual rhetoric but this argument always goes nowhere. The bottom line is that $100 means a lot of different things to a lot of different people. And different guys are looking for everything from a lifelong soulmate to a 10-minute mindless sexfest.

Just do what makes you happy. If you got what you wanted, didn't hurt anyone, and don't feel "ripped off" then you did exactly what you should have done -- for you. Trying to live what is someone else's idea of a good time? You're missing the point.

Yes,,,,,,,,,,, the old Cien argument, I like it ,,,reminds of of sitting in one of the Bars and having a discussion about it. Instead we're doing it on this discussion board.
Its all good to me , we'll do it again in a couple of months

I'm just finishing up an 11 day stay before I move down here in May. I have not paid cien for any ST. Most I ended up at $80 and I got one for $60. You have to negotiate and work the crowd. Of course I only pick up chicas at the SL, I think it is much harder to pick them up from the HDR for those prices, that's my experience at least.

Be patient, learn spanish, I always usually get what I want, I tell them in Spanish, one of the first phrases I learned, "Forget about cien it is'nt going to happen". I then lay down my terms and ask them if they just want to sit there, or go with me for a couple of hours and make some money. They all ask for cien at the DR go across the street to the KL, they come off the cien chant real quick, some ask me if I live there.

Working on my Spanish; after I make the big move in about 3 weeks, I am going to attend a language institute for at least a few months. Not just so I can communicate better with chicas; I don't want my lack of language skills to screw up any aspect of my life. So my goal is to be fluent in the first 6-12 months. That will be my main job - learning Spanish!

K-pax, please let us know how your experience with the language institute goes. I may be making a similar move in a year or so.

I wish you the best with that K-Pax, that's certainly the right attitude. Living there without knowing spanish is askin' for it..

Don't pressure yourself getting it done in 6 months, once you learn nobody can take it from you 8)

Spanish is definitely the way to go. Learning it will lower your pu*sy prices. I speak fluently and I can tell you this for sure. I had one girl who would have gone to the beach with me for $75.00 a night. Let's get everyone on the road to learn more spanish. Here at home we always talk about the visitors who speak no English so it is our monger duty.

Well I'm gaining confidence. I went to Office Depot today and worked with three clerks and expressed myself and understood everything easily. Didn't have to think too hard either, it just kinda flowed out. First time that's happened, I usually think long and hard before every sentence I say. Of course, they were simple conversations, but I'm moving slowly but surely.

Haven't signed up for the language academy yet, but will after 8/17. I have a family member coming down soon and is going to be here 10 days and I'm going to show her a good time and take her all over the country. Then I will get started after that.

Thanks for the kind words of encouragement.

Oh also, I started talking to all the chicas in Spanish as much as possible. I think they think it's cute, since I'm so limited but I'm trying.

Don't give yourself an out with the chicas, pick one that doesn't speak any English. As you know, Spanish is not the main language in Jaco. haha So, my Soanish has suffered greatly since I gave up the place in the city a few years ago. Hooked up with a chica here in the city on Friday night who didn't speak a bit of English. I could see getting a lot sharper just avoiding English as much as possible while I'm up here.
