Yeah, quite literally, I see guys hanging with these P4P renta-honeys like they just won the lottery and are fondling the prize. Unfortunately, the state of relations between men & women in the states has led them to this sad state of affairs. This is the same idea as was discussed in the RT thread; guys don't know or don't want the challlenge of anything other than a straight P4P relationship; I say that's all well and good, just make sure you are clear on the parameters and limitations of such an arrangement. Chi_Treker brought up the fact that "Regular Ticas" are almost as crazy and I have to agree, that they all have that Latin craziness going for them and I have had even would be good-girls pull shit on me down south.

Excuse me, TW, but you aren't a moron, are you? "Simpletons" because they don't buy into the chase-the-carrot-'til-you-croak Gringo Dream? Seems to me that your complete lack of comprehension of a different cultural mindset isn't the "simpleton's" problem. :roll:

One other thing: These "simpleton's" seem to teach wise old gringos some hard lessons nearly every day. What does that say about us, collectively? Their business is their business and how they decide to conduct it is, frankly, none of my business. Stupid they ain't.

Just going by the consensus of responses here that "seems" to be saying, if I am reading correctly, that they don't think or have the capacity to figure this out. I do enjoy eavesdropping and overhearing many of these conversations... Priceless..

It may be as simple as we gringos being hung up on our "Puritan Ethic" of deferred gratification. America was settled by the Puritans. Costa Rica was settled by Spain - instant gratification. The Pura Vida slogan describes the live for today attitude of many in Costa Rica and in fact I've seen many gringos adopt that way of life after living for a while in Costa Rica.

The other detractor for many chicas is that the ones who have money are always beseiged by those who don't have any money that day. It's a cultural no-no to refuse to share money when you have it so,.....following chica logic, it makes sense to make only as much money as you need that day and no more. Besides, they believe they can earn tomorrow the money they need tomorrow - or ask a friend to "borrow them" the money they need. Perhaps it's like picking "free" vegetables in the field.....it's free, but please take only what you need today and you are welcome to come back tomorrow.

Although many chicas have the attitude described by ThirdWorld, I can point out several chicas who mostly hang out at Sportsmens who are very diligent and reliable providers. They don't drink during the day and the regular gringos know who they are and know they can rely upon them for consistent performance. They are pleasant and courteous to everyone and they have worked at the SL for quite a few years. I understand that some of them now own a house and a car.

What about Johanna at the Sportsman's? May be more than one but I think she is the most popular and has been talked about many times here. She seemed pretty smart and businesslike. Not businesslike in the bad way as in the bed.
