I think it may have to do with the fact that virtually all questions have been asked and answered at some point. New reviews of old topics is not a bad thing. Remember there is a definite life cycle to all of this from excitable newbie to experienced guy to old and sometimes jaded veteran. Almost all the topics are old for me now, but I learn something new from time to time. I try to remember how exciting it was to be a newbie and all the help that the veterans in 2005 and 2006 gave to my repeated inquiries. A lot of questions are answered in person here in San Jose or by PM. I probably meet 30 or so newbies a month and mostly all the vets are willing to help. I tell the new guys to fell comfortable asking for help at the Dunn or SL and that unless they prove themselves to be a real ahole of some sort they will get lots of help.

One of the things I most like about CRT is that in general it is an open fellowship with all different types of guys coming together to discuss and enjoy an aspect of life that is mostly Taboo back home.

Many a monger may have moved on to Rio, MDE and Pattaya but CR is still the closest place for affordable mongering except maybe DR. I get on an early flight and I am laying down nude in NF at 3pm the same day. You could say TJ but I really do not want anything to do with Mexico while there is a war going on there.

I just looked on expedia and tiks to MDE are only about $50 more and the flight is only an hour or two longer.

For the pinheads that are rolling their eyes and pointing out the search function, you missed the point of the post. This isn't about finding information, it's about the quality of available current information. As I pointed out earlier on, and as some of the more experienced and astute among you have also noticed, much of the communication seems to have moved from the site pages off to the back-channels (PM, word of mouth, email etc) where the membership doesn't see it.

My theory about this is that as the membership has grown, and cases of chica access have increased, that the smaller and more intimate group that used to exist and shared everything doesn't feel as close to the membership as it used to, and because of that is less likely to make an effort to get their info out there, except to those members of that original little group they still feel comfortable with. This isn't everyone, of course...

For those who complain about rehashing, yes its true that it can get tiresome. It's also true that it's necessary, if you substitute "update" for rehash. New prices, people, management, location, concerns etc etc are the lifeblood of the core material for a site like this. That's what makes this site better than ISG or WSG or the like. What good is information from 2004? That's 5 generations of information behind, and almost completely valueless, even if it does generate 100 hits in a search. For those of you who want to immediately run over to those sites and point out that there's more current info than 2004 over there, don't bother. I was making a point, not publishing a paper...

...I guess my point, and likely my whining in vain, is that I wish that some of the great quality information from those of you who are truly knowledgeable would make its way back out into the light again, instead of degenerating into 2 sites, the CRT and the back room boys club from the CRT.

My apologies to all of you whom I have offended with this post, of which I'm sure there are several. For those of you who would like to point out a single "fact" from that rant and use it to argue with me over the entirety of what I said you're wasting your time. I am presenting no facts. I used names as examples to illustrate my viewpoint, not in support of my opinion. You could substitute any place/name you like without changing anything. If you have a completely different opinion then spout it out, since it will have equal value to mine. I'd love to hear what some of the old hands have to say, and whether they think I'm full of shit or not.

I agree 100%. Information such as current MP pricing & line-ups is especially important for the occasional visitor, but has become much less available here.

As for those of us who also play in different locales the fact that many have moved off to MDE or Pattaya or what-have-you wouldn't mean that less info should be coming out. In fact, since the membership is growing we should be getting more, not less, than we used to. The fact that the info all seems to revolve around the DR, SL , ZB and a few other select venues, instead of encompassing everything including the other smaller places, the Paseo Colon area etc, and which included current pricing, seems to indicate to me that the membership is becoming as a group is becoming a diluted, less informed version of its current self.

For those who complain about rehashing, yes its true that it can get tiresome. It's also true that it's necessary, if you substitute "update" for rehash. I can easily remember a time in the not too distant past where with the search engine I could easily obtain what current pricing was for just about any MP in town, shithole or not, and where regular reports would come out of places like the Molino Rojo or the Camelot and other less gringo-ized places. I know that a number of you guys still go to these places (I don't necessarily mean just the MR or the Camelot, they were just examples) but I rarely see anything come out about it. Before, people talked about everything and everywhere, with lots of good natured shit stirring, jokes, general chat and relevant issues to boot. No more. The focus is so narrow that it would seem like a single trip monger with a stay in the DR is now expert on half of what's available, based on current site info.

I make no claims about the people being different/better than they used to be, nor do I think that admin has slipped in any way. To the contrary, in fact, as the benefits of belonging to CRT continue to grow. I guess my point, and likely my whining in vain, is that I wish that some of the great quality information from those of you who are truly knowledgeable would make its way back out into the light again, instead of degenerating into 2 sites, the CRT and the back room boys club from the CRT.

You are totally full of shit dude, but this has nothing to do with this post, and everything to do with the fact that you prefer congac to malt  . Seriously, what you say about updating verses rehashing is spot on. I really get no true "sense" of how places have changed and what the "vibe" is like at places anymore, and the two examples you used were apt. (I had some great times in Bar Camelot, and talk about a really cool scene). When was it we were there, three years ago or so? Damn...

If I don't talk to you before, have a great trip down, and I look foward to a report with some good updates...

Hey does anyone know if the HDR bartenders are on the menu? And, if so, should I pay her $100/hr?

I can't read people worth a dookie but even I saw if his tongue was more firmly in cheek, it would have been in another ZIP code.

Agreed. But although I see a lot of complaints about less chicas, and wanting more money, etc. I'm not seeing it. There are fewer girls around, but there are fewer guys too, and a big number I've spoken to that almost canceled trips or don't come down as often due to the economy and exchange rate.

Maybe it's just me, but the chicas seem to move down from cien a hell of a lot quicker than they did 3 years ago. This last visit, I was at HDR, chica came up and i asked "how much?" (my usual ploy when I want them to quote too high so I can send them on their way). Her answer: "$60". I had to take her with me just on principle. 8) A good solid 8 face, 9 body, too.

SR

My last trip aug 13-18, HDR chicas were dropping to $60 and one to $50 very easy. I didn't even hit the massage parlors. Also Facebook worked very well for me. It was the best buyers market I've seen of my 16 or so trips since Sept. 2001
