I changed my mind. I want a political forum. I wanna fight ! I wanna have a June 15th "CAGE MATCH". Friend against friend, Brother against Brother. I want to argue about highly-heated political issues ! I will be at the supermarket selecting items but in the back of my mind, I'll be thinking about who is responding to my last post.
Weeks will pass without even mentioning chicas. Yeah.

I'm passing on an edited version of some comments I made to ADMIN 1 concerning this subject for all to see.

1) recent activity show there is an interest in it and draws "a crowd"

2) In the past when the Novia stuff and the Smack talk stuff started getting in the way regular discussions, you created separate threads so those WHO CARED TO could go there and " do their thing"

3) In addition to being Gentlemen, everyone here is also an ADULT !

4) the stuff going on in the EEUU is indeed an Adult topic and WILL effect the Travel to CR and what happens here.

Think about it....

To the detractors who argue that this type of discussion "hurts" the board or detracts them from the subject at hand....

.... I remember the story of The Little Old Lady who called 911 to complain that she could see her neighbors where running around nude in their backyard and possibly they were even having sex in full view of the PUBLIC and other neighbors...

.... Well the Police arrive quickly and after an investigation of the Little Old Ladys complain.. had to inform her they could see NOTHING the neighbors were doing since they had a high privacy fence built around the property...

.... In complete disgust the Little Old Lady informs the Police... OF Course you Can't you Idiots... You didn't move the ladder to the fence then use the mirror to look over the top of the fence..!!! You Idiots !!

... In complete surprise.. the Police ask... what ladder ? we didn't see any ladder in your Yard....???

..Our Friend, The Little old Lady responds.. OF COURSE YOU DIDN'T .. ...You Idiots..

... The other Neighbors are borrowing IT right now so they can also be witnesses and complain too !!!

We have all watched enough Cable Television in past year to know when someone is " Sound Biting" to spin a point.

If I thought anyone was "Automatically" anything... I would have said that.

You made that determination.

The point of the "story" ( thought it was self explanatory ) was that there are some very good natured people in the world that "go out of their way" to control the actions of others...

Personally, I can not stand the "Smack Talk" section and probably haven't visited it more than 3 or 4 times in total time on the board. I care less who posts there, what they say, or have any desire to limit their freedom to make those posts. I don't even want to tell them what is best for them out of some idea that I know what is best for them. Again this is just my personal opinion on " Smack Talk" .

If I don't like an area , I don't go there.

Others may want to follow the same path when it comes to areas of CRT, Calles & Avenidas in San Jose, MP's, $100 hookers, and life in general.
We're all adults and can make our own decisions as what is best for ourselves...

....so far at least.

Expanding this board to include politics would be one of the worst things you can do. It would encourage arguments and division. I happen to have a degree in political science and another one in law. I am politically active, I watch polls in Florida during elections, I have trained other lawyers to watch polls. I donate and raise money for candidates and I could argue politics from now until the cows come home.

However, this is not the place for politics. There are an infinite number of places on the internet for people to discuss and argue politics. This should not be one of them. This site, in the 2 1/2 years I have been a member, is about friendship and brotherhood. It is about sharing information so we can have better vacations and party time in CR and other venues around the world. It is about like minded people sharing experiences so the other members can have better experiences when they travel.

Admin, politics, and religion, by there very nature, are very incendiary topics. They are extremely divisive. Why add that to the board? One of the best rules you have is NO POLITICS, why eliminate it? I like everyone else have close friends whose political opinions differ from mine. I rarely discuss politics with these people because it only leads to anger and animosity. Obviously my vote is completely against giving politics a place on this board.

In theory, a no politics rule is fine but in reality it keeps poping up and more than likely always will. I feel it's much better to be realistic and aware of it and give it it's own place out of the mainstream forum. It seemed to work well with smack talk etc.

As politics, at base, is the art of influencing others to agree with or see the relevance of a point of view, this discussion is itself political. We have as has been pointed out de facto political discussions all the time here--this would it is to be hoped make a de jure Forum for it, meaning any "leakage" from another Forum would be transferred to this one albeit by dint of effort on Senior Brother Admin1's part.
It would be an experiment--if it fails, it can be excised and all identifiable political discussions cast into oblivion, as has been infrequently done for other Topics/ banned Brothers and others. Thus has the mush-mouthed manic spoken.

Seriously every American political debate goes into the same direction. Its just BS democrat vs republican stuff in the end.

While I dont really care what anyone says about their respective opinions, I think the current setup of pretty much minimal political tolerance does the board a world of wonders.

Even reading the responses on this particular harmless thread you would be borderline crazy to implement something and tolerate something on an outgoing basis. Even in the smack talk section people at times get personal.

I am a member of a couple of forums that allow political talk.
Some of it is quite interesting, educational and entertaining.
Often though, it ends up in heated arguments and even personal attacks.

I find it refreshing to visit a forum without that jazz.

That is without question the last thing a board like this needs, and nothing is guaranteed to cause more flaming and polarization of the members than politics. Let's stuck with a subject we can all agree on. Great women!
