Yesterday while I was in the airport baggage area I did my normal routine and went over to the ICE both and bought a 199 card.

Is the ICE booth open on Sundays? I have my unlocked Moto V196 ready to go once I get there this Sunday.

Yes, I got here last Sunday and the booth was open.

No worries,
If the booth is closed or the gal is out for lunch or something you can (according to the info from ICE) buy a SIM at any of their offices or at an authorized outlet.

I addition to the ICE booth in baggage claim there is another. It’s upstairs at gate level between gates 8 and 9.

The ICE booth was manned (actually, "girled" :) ) on Sunday when we arrived. The process was exactly as FMC1 described in his original post. My unlocked Motorola V196 worked immediately (and the menus even came up in English, btw).

Call sound quality -- excellent. Setup process - painless, took less than 10 minutes for 2 phones (wingman got his local number, too).

Only problem -- now the favoritas and other chicas can call me. Gets interesting when I get a call from another chica while the favorita is sitting on my lap :)

Thanks FMC1!!

Is there a way to block your number on the pre-paid sims? So that if you call a crazy chica, she won't have your number to call you back (repeatedly).

The way Brother Jamrock60's post ended so abruptly, I think the Tica CIA got to him before he could reveal.

You are absolutely right the TICA CIA got a hold of me before I could tell you. Any way i am out of her Grasp and here it is. When you buy your phone card tell them that you want your number to be private and thats it. there is no * number like we have in the State to block your number..

This is probably going to piss off somebody at ICE because they may be charging extra for ID block or ID forward but here goes.

The industry standard GSM codes for outgoing caller ID work on the ICE GSM network.

*#31# <send> for status
#31# <number> <send> for deactivate
*31# <number> <send> for activate

This is for GSM ONLY not CDMA, TDMA, IDEN or whatever.

A lot of GSM phones have a menu setting for this. In my Nokia 6085 it’s menu > settings > call settings > send my caller id > yes, no or set by network.
