BILKO: Were the guys in question younger or older? As an ole fart myself, I would be very disappointed if an older guy did something like that.

If he were younger guy, his actions could be chocked up to being childish, socially retarded and just plain stupid; someone without the education and maturity to conduct himself in life as a man; someone sin huevos.

Pac55 put it very well; it is about “common courtesy.” I thought that Zebra’s comment about explaining to the chica “don’t waste your time” on me (meaning I am not in the market right now) was very appropriate conduct; as was Mike321’s comment that he would compensate for her time if the deal could not be consummated.

El Viejo expressed my belief: some guys never get it. They may get laid for a few bucks, but they never get the full experience that can be had by being simpatico. And to me that is very important. GFEs are far more satisfying and fulfilling. In my opinion, without the GFE, without the passion and caring, it is just a form of mutual masturbation. If you haven't had that experince, I feel sorry for you because GFE is really great.

As I have watched girls work the room in both the SL and the HDR, I have noted that they will walk right by a younger and better looking guy and head over to a more mature looking guy, e.g., pleasant looking but the days of handsome stud were long ago.

Is that just my imagination or has anyone else noticed that? I have not seen that with the young chicas who are just starting out and don’t know what to do; but I have seen it with the girls who have a little more experience.

If it is true, is that because they think older guys are an easier mark with more money or because older guys will treat them better? Or am I just smoking my sox?

Finally, ID wisely observed that women treated like that (with disrespect and disregard for her human dignity as described in the orignal post) will hold resentment against gringos period. Not a good thing but then there always are a minority which screw things up for everyone.

No offense, but I doubt you know the financial conditions of all the prostitutes you employ. You say you do it for fantasy, so I would think you prefer not to know their economic situations. To call my amigas 'broke, begging little wench' seems to imply you know them, which you certainly don't.

The point of my post was to add a real story from a credible source. If the 'reality based community' is a buzz kill to anyone, then I suggest he skip most of my posts. There are countless threads about BBBJs, lesbian shows, fake tits, why spinners are better lovers, RFMs, Nicas vs. Colombianas, Del Rey pricing, HLH million client club girls etc. Sex tourism in CR requires no interest in the local reality except avoiding rip offs and being able to find the Del Rey, Sportsman's and HLH.

The range of gringos who come down here falls along a wide spectrum. At one end are guys like me, who work at their Spanish, talk to the locals, and want to understand why Costa Rica is what it is. At the other end are those who only want to learn enough Spanish to get a BBBJ or negotiate TLN along with their BBBJ. I have met guys who have been coming here for ten years who have never been outside of San Jose, and barely outside the gulch (probably to visit D'Pelufos). Most are somewhere in the middle.

I hope the fantasy-based crowd respects the right of the 'reality based' crowd to do an occasional post. I studiously avoid bursting bubbles around here. I don't need to, usually, since there are others who are eager to warn their brethren about the dangers of falling in love, sending money, etc. etc. I could kick it up a notch to include a lot of other things I see, but I don't.

So I respect anyone's right to live out their fantasy here. I only suggest skipping reading any subjects dealing with less-than-wonderful reality.

Doesn't really matter, I treat all the women I come into contact with respect. If I ever have a problem, I just smile and politely excuse myself from the situation....Have never in my time here had one ugly incident or even as much as a pissed off chica. I do know my fair share of working girls and just have never connected with the ones living hand to mouth.

I like to see a thread on this subject come up as it does now and then. There will always be the women haters chime in with their tales of disrespect, but if one newbie can gain perspective on the way the chicas live we are better served. I have met chicas that have had no money forcabs , meals ect. I always try and help. I have been coming here long enough to not get fooled often,even if it happens to be a scam sometimes I would rather lose a couple bucks than see another human being in that situation.

I don't want to start a discussion about the chicas' money management skills, but not having any money in their purse at any given time is actually laughable. They make $60-100 per client and the next day they don't have money to buy lunch or take a taxi. At least they have some new clothes, new shoes, latest cell phone, drugs... I doubt they take the full $100 and go pay the bills.

And the ones that don't get clients every day should know even better how to manage their money so they have some in case they don't get a client for a day or two.

But this is going way above their level of thought.

By the way, the Beatle Bar in Jaco and the Del Rey aren't what I consider the 'real' Costa Rica any more than Disneyland and Las Vegas represent the 'real' USA.
