Pray tell, what can you do in America that you can't do in Costa Rica? I build custom rods as a hobby. It would be no big deal for me to bring the stuff I need with me if I decide to spend muchas time in CR.

What about the outdoors? Costa Rica is beautiful and I don't know how long it would take for me to feel like I had seen it all. How about photography? There are a million stories to be told in pictures without ever leaving the gulch.

How about socializing? I neither drink or gamble much but I had a great time meeting people and socializing at the News Cafe or Sportsman's. The shopping is fun. I could have a great time building a nest in Costa Rica. Then there is always the internet and researching my next trip and learning Spanish.

I guess I don't understand the "nothing to do" comment.

I've gone around and around with my good friend Chi-Trekker on this, but I have to chime in and agree with Pacifica55. I think wherever you go, you make your own fun. Sure, anyone who lives there is going to get tired of the whole whoremongering/partying thing fairly quickly - if they allow themselves to get into that rut. But there's a whole different country out there with great beauty and it's own unique culture - why not take the time and opportunity to explore it?

I would kill for that opportunity...

today, I was having a swim at the pool (in gringa land)
I see a woman approaching
she is behind a low wall, so I only see from the waist up,
what I do see is attractive
she notices me looking
I am waiting for her to round the corner,
then, disappointment!
extra-wide hips,
I answer my cell phone, and starting talking even though no one called,
and make my get away

after all the hot girls in CR, eastern europe, and Colombia
big hips are just painful to look at
there should be a law limiting the size of hips allowed to wear a bikini in public

It is amazing what a little time in CR can do for the soul. :)

But I wouldn't want to live there. :?

I am sure that it would turn out to be a case of paradise lost. :(

I am usually ready to come home after 5 days.

There really is no Utopia from what I have seen traveling the planet :? . One just trades one set of problems or one set of joys for another. Most of the time I see this in relationships also. I know so many men that have gone from the frying pan to the fire. Most guys I see jump from Gringa to Gringa just keep adding more problems to their old problems. Then if we throw a hot young Latina Puta in the mix we really have a nice blaze going.

I believe that the type of Gringos that travel & organize themselves about the true world that exists out there are pretty driven goal oriented type of men. Hard to imagine this type happy too long scratching your balls to death from mosquito bites on the beach for the rest of ones life :( ? Imagine living in Jaco to the end  (sorry Thirdworld :) )??? NOT ME!

I kick our culture around but if you have a lot of hobbies & interests the USA has a lot to offer. I just wish people here were happier & really understood their good fortune that most have wasted. I wouldn’t be bored & wouldn’t hangout at the gulch all day either if I lived in CR. I love to interact with the natives & find they let me fit in like family many times. If they see you as a drinking mongerer lookout it will be different  .

The problem for me is I can only take simplicity for so long. I would have to be building hotels or into projects that stimulate my blood but the frustrations of doing this in what we all have seen or touched on with their difficult corrupt ways would not be fun IMHO.

This is why I rather leave things like they are using it as a nice place to vacation & a cumm dumping ground to revitalize my inter soul :D  (YES!!). It is a nice balance. I keep my eye on the Puta's Pu$$ies & I leave all the serious stuff for those that want to hire "Private Investigators" to keep up with their ladies :) .. I could live their but if it isn’t broken I am not going to try to fix it.

I really appreciate Chi-treker’s blunt honest posts. I love his comment about playing with Putas as an extension of masturbation. I can relate to this but the Putas make it at least a little warmer & fuzzier :) . He also confirms what I have felt about CR for many years & that is nice to see.

I feel things in the USA are slowly deteriorating here with the more socialistic entitlement mentality. This effects far more than the Gringas attitude about men which is a far bigger concern for many of us I feel. Our entitlement mentality & handouts have created the most worthless bad attitude humans that the planet has ever seen IMHO which many have lost their own ability to care for themselves. It makes the cien issue pale by comparison & how it ruins the chicas by handing them too much & not making them work a little harder. Look how many gorditas are showing up in HDR these days. Easy $$$ robs people of their creativity & allows simpletons to do what comes natural like over eating  !

I know Latino countries are very Socialistic by nature but if I am going to have Socialism shoved down my throat I rather have mine with sweet pu$$y producing Ladies that when we all break up the party everyone leaves HAPPY! :D

I don’t see any of this easy entitlement crap being good for the happiness & general state of well being of it’s people. This is one reason I would consider a move to a land of people so simple they don’t know or haven’t yet been taught how to be so miserable as so many I see here. Like somewhere I was reading about a younger Latina happy being with an older Gringo because in that Latinas eyes she had it better than her peers & was somewhat envied which in turn had a positive effect on her state of well being.

It can all be so relative depending on one’s environment & what we have been taught. Gringas have been taught that this is awful & we all know the effect this has had. The one part that is so sad to see now is how many Ch*ldren are raised in the USA without any decent parenting. Not only do they have shit for brains to go with their bad diet that creates that huge ugly ass backed up by rotten teeth at an early age, they also think the world owes them prosperity somehow?????

They seem to want what they perceive as a cool rapper slug that has NO future over a man that has his shit together. Great world that is being forged isn’t it?????

At least I know there are other good places to live if I choose to do so.

Zippy

Nice post. I totally agree that most gringas have sense that the are born entitled to everything they want and in the manner they in which they want it.

CR only wetted my taste buds for further adventure outside the US but ruined me......... NO I was already ruined by the gringas I've dated and married here in the US.

Great post Zipp.
You actually caused me to rethink some of my ideas about paradise.
And about the American K*ds now. I live in a beach community in So. Cal.
Plenty of money everywhere here (except me).
The K*ds are so lazy & expect everything handed to them on a silver platter. My 17 yr old daughter speaks reads & writes 4 languages & reads & writes a fifth. Four point six GPA. College will be International Business.
I keep telling her that, If she keeps it up she will be in the ruling class of the future U.S.
The simpler the masses, the easier to have them follow ( The politicians)

A while back a stumbled upon an op-ed piece that said how terrible K*ds and times where and that usa was just going to hell in a hand basket.. it was dated 1890, so i do believe that each and every generation thinks the next is not so good.

Anyways i have mongered in mexico and cr, and i had planned to retire to mexico, but now i am considering cr, the thing that i like about both is that you can just go get a piece of ass when needed..
i am past the time when i need 4 aday or 3 aday or even 2 aday, but in both places i don't have to worry about stings and getting arrested and all the bs
that we have in usa.
THE other thing i cannot tolerate in my life any more is just the gringa bs..
don't want to date, don't want to hear about her problems, <which if you listened to and offer advice you are an ass, and if you don't listen you're an ass>, just want ass....('')

Zippy made some great points. There is no utopia. People in the "advanced" countries are far more miserable in general than those in developing countries. Instead of enjoying what they have they are looking to what they can have next. That cycle of desire is never ending.

The never ending cycle is the killer for most people & there ability to be truly happy.

I wonder how Forrest Gump would have been effected by the gulch verses his wife Jenny :) ? What a classic movie about life! In the end Forrest seemed to have a better over all life with is simple yet consistent ways. Jenny was your typical Gringa (can never please for long) who was all over the board without any true convictions it seemed. Jenny like so many people I know made life far more complex than need be. She was like so many & simply had nothing in her mind to hang on to for stability. Forrest of course was all about simplicity & had all kinds of values he was taught growing up which he could easily keep his life in better focus. He may have been simple but he was balanced for what it is worth.

I believe the hardest part of dealing with returning to life in the USA after extended time with simple happy go lucky type of people is you realize you are more alone with your views than ever. People that never travel & even some that do, don’t always understand how brain washed they have become. They are so programmed at being “processed” they don’t even know it.

One thing I always noticed about myself is how well I always could communicate with down to earth rural Gringas. They where like a breath of fresh air compared to the hard unhappy game playing types that grew up in big cities. I just don’t like how anxious, restless & unhappy the never ending cycle of desires makes people here.

Exactly right.

At first it was just the Gringas that I noticed didn't "get it". Now I'm finding GUYS that are single and have never ventured outside the USA that are just as clueless as to what is out in the world.

When I tell them of my travels even THEY come back with some of the most misinformed, pre-conceived, stereotypical BS that you can imagine. I tell them, "you're thinking like an American". That only confuses them or even pisses them off. They can't even imagine that there is life outside the mental prison they've allowed themselves to be kept in.

It always amazes me how people think they know all about a subject (ie. another country, culture or lifestyle) when they have never been there and/or experienced any of it.

Paraphrasing what the chicas say, "I sorry for them". :?
