Jmacaula,

See you usually have a point to your post which is great. I feel like I try to add knowledge for new guys by talking about my past experiences which may have value to some & bore others to death? Even though I feel like I will not be back to CR for sometime do to lack of interest or burnout I feel like leaving little pieces of info hear & there about the over all experiences I have had for so long. Once we are dead & gone this info will be forever lost since it is not like we can talk about what we do or what we have done to just anyone & can leave it here where maybe it can help someone without hurting anyone?? Maybe this board should be for current mongers only & not past guys like me sharing old experiences as one post reminds me of something I have done in CR so I add it to a thread as I also try to help answer a question or add to the thread.

Really doesn't matter because I have posted most things I can without getting too deep into private matters & will fad from the forum soon Like Prolijo & Danpaz1 have but I have had my own self serving intersest to do this & felt it might help some here possibly? What I have been impressed with on this board is the class & tact that the members keep about themselves considering the nature of our little hobby we have of wine, women & song. It is a volatile mix & we all seem to keep it together without a lot of trash talk. Most threads I have seen on the internet about hobbies example sports cars turn mean spirited nasty & foul mouth sometimes so CRT has been a great group of guys in my view. Maybe short curt answers & less personnel opinion is better but adding some personality & character I felt makes things less boring & less like a robot answering service?? Let’s make a POLL! :? :P

Myself I would rather see no rating system at all & the total # of posts we make removed. These could be only seen if someone looks up someones profile only but that is just me.

Interesting - even though I've pulled out of the mongering game and so rarely post now, I'm not sure I would bother anymore anyways. I still monitor the board, and I have to say that rarely is anything posted nowadays that piques my interest whatsoever. It may just be a case of "been there, done that", but I also think that the overall quality of dialog has fallen off sharply in the past six months or so. The board has lost some of it's most interesting posters, and very few have stepped in to take their place.

Handy might have actually been on to something with his idea to have a more private exclusive area of the board, with maybe some more stringent criteria for membership than just paying your $40. Or maybe there just needs to be a new board...

Once again I state the ranking system was all in fun... For those of you who took it so seriously and were upset by it.. I will kindly remove it Jeez try to add some levity around here and people just can't get out of their own way to stir the Sh*T...

As far as the comments of some who feel the quality of posts have gone down hill or that the posters in the past who no longer post. Those should look at themselves and how their lives have changed into what they are now, M MEN mostly are the ones who seem to have the most complaints or needs for their own section.. Handy, Now GR... As much as I respect your opinions, If you want to start your own board M MEN GO AHEAD.

The board grows, it evolves, it changes... New posters come hundreds a week and the amount of data is overwhelming even with the search engine. So yes you get many of the same old tired questions from the guys who want to be spoon fed but thats part of the game. Yes its old hat to many of us, and yes rarely will those types of questions bring interest but that is in life in general. Once you spend enough time doing something, going some place or being involved in an activity, when does that activity lose interest and you look for another Hobby hence the M MEN.

Perhaps instead of dwelling on the negative you can use your expierience to help others who do not have the knowledge you posess. I'll give you just a couple of names of people who consistently try to help out newbies even though I am sure answering the same old questions drives them crazy. I have no particular affiliation with these people just things I notice and that they consistently help out.

Mucho gusto always willing to assist, with even the mundane questions.

Paco Loco does the search for the newbies and provides them links.

Irish Drifter who at times can be rough on the newbies but still provides man on the street info just like LVSTeve.

VegasBob the man who started this whole mess helps the newbies on the ground in CR.

Zippy more insight thought & introspection but still there with vast knowlege of the CR Scene.

RBC & Dongordo both willing to help out with local out of the way places.

THere are just a few of the many fine gentlemen who use their knowlege as a way to helping other instead of feeling like they no longer need to assist, because the site is old or tired.

There are many many more sorry if I missed you who consistently have been around from the beginning and made this board & site what it is today.

I went off topic here as the thread did, bottom line.. You want to start your own BOARD M MEN or whatever do what you have to do! As to the ranking system, I never thought having a little fun could ruffle so many feathers.

I am a little senstive here as I put god knows how many hours of thought and work in providing this venue for all, and trying to keep it fresh, with thoughts, Ideas, and new activities to keep everyone happy, friendly and interested, yet comments such as the one by GR simply strike a very sensitve chord in me.

As far as the ranking system. A poll will be added. DO YOU WANT IT OR KILL IT Simple.
Thanks for listening to me rant.

Admin 1,

Think you should have added a third option to your poll:

COULD CARE LESS!!

That would be the clear winner in my opinion.

I vote for I could care less...
Does that qualify me for a mindless post to get my ranking up

and Admin don't let one poster upset you like that.. We all are very thankful for all the hard work that goes in here, I can only imagine the hours your put in... I've been around discussion forums for years and you do a great job of keeping this and everyone inline and at the same time providing a incredible source of information as well as an outlet for all of our members discussion. Keep up the good work!

Well I said in my post that I would probably take some flack for bringing up this topic, and I guess I was right. With all due respect to our esteemed leader,my intention was not to "stir up some shit". As far as I am concerned, there is no need for a poll. I have no problem with everything staying the way it is. As Admin. correctly pointed out "it was all for fun". Fun is what this board is all about. (after all we are talking about pu*sy and not rocket science). Anyone who knows me knows that I consider humor very important in this fucked-up world. This thread has gotten way too intense.
I think I have accomplished what I really set out to do.That is to at least get regular posters to think a little before they post. Perhaps some of us,who look at our number of posts and rank will understand that in this forum "rank does NOT have priviledge". Now I suggest we all go back to the IMPORTANT stuff. Anyone get an outstanding BBBJ lately? I did last night, but I'm not telling you who she was. hahaha

Admin;
A couple of years ago, we all sent you words of thanks everytime you upgraded this forum. Shamefully, this is becoming something we take for granted.
Just want you to know we appreciate all the hard work you've put in over the years. I, for one do not take this board for granted. Please, keep up the outstanding efforts. For my part, I will continue to contribute any way I can.
Best,
LVSteve

Personally , I don't put too much weight on members' post counts. The number means only just that, nothing more and nothing less.

So if some newbie wants to up the counts by posting tens of " yeah ", ' ditto ", " Amen brother ", that'd be his call, and does not really concern me.

I must say I have to agree , as mentioned, that the silly posts, friendly jabs or even disagreement do make the board interesting, and truthful.

Afterall , people do have different posting style, with a public board like CRT, with 6000 plus members, variety is something we can't get away with.

To my friend GR I must respectfully disagree with most of your post. Remember where you came from.I am happy for you that you have currently found happiness in your MMan status, but without CRT it never would have happened. It is usually a good idea to think about how to rebuild the bridge that you may decide to cross again, before you burn it down. I understand that MMen have different wants and needs that this board may not be set up to assist,BUT we should all be careful to avoid the "hollier than thou" attitude. Mongers and MMen have little in common, but each could turn into the other in a flash.

Since anything I say here is tainted due to my close friendship with Admin 1 I will say that an MMEN board would go something like this...

POST ONE... I used to be a monger and I've found happiness with the women of my dreams.

Post two I'm numb thank God its football season I can bet some games.

Post Three.... This phucking bitch is driving me crazy wants to know every single thing that I do where I am going, who I'm talking to on the computer

Post Four: I wonder if I can get down to CR and see some old friends "JUST TO HANG AROUND"

Post Five: The Bitch took everything I can't even afford to monger because I'm paying her off for the rest of my life....

BOYS TAKE IT FROM THE VOICE OF EXPEIRIENCE WHO IS STILL THE ONLY PERSON IN HISTORY TO BE SERVED HIS DIVORCE PAPERS AT THE FRONT DESK OF THE PRESIDENTE BY A COURIER! Remember where you come from, who you are and how you got there....

Now back to my hammock in On my cliff in North Brazil.... Dino, Gman, DrillM when you guys coming back to Visit, I know you miss PIPA    OK Fine see you in Rio in November.

I want to personally thank everyone who responded to this post because without your participation I wouldn't have been able to push my post count up by 3. I don't remember my status right now but I think that with another 1000 posts I can move up to being "A Real Asshole" ( I know,I know someone will say that I passed that a long time ago0

Wow VB...you even suceeded in getting Duardo out of his hammock in Brazil! What an accomplishment  ...

I want to go on record publicly giving huge kudos to my bud Admin 1. When 3 of us started this thing over 3 years ago...we had no clue it would ever grow this large...wasnt the intention really. We just wanted a nice online community where likeminded gentlemen could interact with some controls and monitoring. As time and circumstances progressed, Admin 1 poured his heart and soul into this site and forum more than any of us...and he now runs with it...in a very classy fashion...and I have seen the hours each DAY he puts in behind the scenes to keep this place alive...and its NOT about the money.

All that to say, I think those critical of even simple gags like the degrees for posts should just go away quietly if this place no longer serves them. Yet something tells me that even many hardcore Mmen are still trolling this site because they still get something out of the community. Whether a real physical town, or a VIRTUAL community, you're never going to get along or approve of EVERYONE and EVERYTHING. But, to get along peacefully, adults learn to say please and thankyou, and keep criticizms to a minimum and making them only when change or attention is needed. Sure, some of us original guys even going back to the FORMER CR board, get tired of the same questions week after week. But, I still get a kick out of watching the newby come into the Delrey or a strip club like Kamur, and realize that they can have anything on the menu for less than CIEN.

Again...kudos to Admin 1...and just a reminder that this community has now extended to many international points...Panama, Colombia, Brazil...even Thailand...and there are no limits but in our own minds. My life is enriched by many of the gentlemen I have met on this board who I now call Friend. That would not have happened in my "previous" world. I think many of you can relate to this.

Viva CRT!!!

Ah - a little controversy - now that's more like it!

Admin1 - certainly didn't mean to ruffle any feathers; I, like everyone else certainly appreciate the outstanding job you've done - and continue to do - with the board. I'm sure none of this is easy - especially balancing the delicate prerogatives involved with maintaining sponsor relationships while providing a forum for criticism of those same sponsors. And I certainly have no problem whatsoever with the ranking system, and don't believe anyone consciously posts more frequently with the idea of improving their ranking.

I just wonder a little sometimes if the board, and perhaps even Costa Rica, is becoming a victim of it's own success. Certainly the high level of membership introduces a greater need for discretion in what one posts, and with that comes a certain blandness. And blandness - and the accompanying boredom it brings - I believe can kill a board faster than a little controversy, which often makes things more interesting.
