The thing about this I see daily is that there are 45 million people in the COUNTRY THAT DO NOT HAVE HEALTH INSURANCE. There are many that have care and are under insured. That is a shame and I do believe that no other industrialized nation treats there citazens like that. Its a shame.

Now someone is trying to do something about 31 million of them by using the same free market and he is being called a socialized and worse

If he was a socialized he would be for a single payer system like other countries have. I would not like all of our neighbors that work at insurance companies out of work. I think he feels the same way.

I have had patients 2 ,die because they had no insurance and I was older than both ladies. They had breast cancer and what I did make them feel better in their last days. In fact I still get Christmas cards from their husbands

So, Obama care requires, by law, that every American buy health insurance. Not an option, it will be a law. Surely constitutional scholars can shoot holes in this. I guess not, or holes would have been shot through Medicare which I pay for under duress by the Fed. Govt.

Under Obama care you will not be denied coverage for a pre-existing condition. If you choose not to buy health insurance you are breaking the law and you will pay a fine. Will the fine cost less than paying for the Government Health Insurance premium? Will they eventually put citizens in jail for choosing not to buy insurance?

If the fine is a less than half the cost of Govt. Insurance premium and you will not be denied coverage for a preexisting condition, why not roll the dice and not participate and just pay the fine. Then, if you should be unfortunate enought to develop a grave (expensive) illness, THEN sign up for insurance. Seems like a no brainer on my balance sheet. Wait until you are sick before you buy insurance. This is kind of like buying collision car insurance AFTER the car wreck.

It saddens me that my freedoms continue to erode. Government wants more and more to control my life and limit my choices and sink us into mediocre at best

I do not lean left or right. I don’t trust the federal government….. Right, Left, Middle, Up or Down.

The Federal Government needs to focus of defending our border(s), culture and language.

Thank God for our military, I give them credit for doing something well and that is defending this Country and they do OK in building roads. Other than that, can someone tell what the Federal Government does well? Anything? Do we really think they are going to administer and run health care well? Shit this is a depressing thought.

The incentive of profit and the drive to win over one’s competition to gain greater profits delivers a better system than a corrupt bunch of politicians.

This is why I quit giving my opinion in this thread. Political discussion on line A)almost always degenerate into name calling and attacks and B)never seem to change any minds. So I don't see any point in having political discussions online. A lesson I learned in my youth, I used to get into it, but eventually I realized it's a waste of time. I have strong opinions on this but I just don''t want to waste my time discussing online.
