We all believe that CRT is an association that helps us to enjoy our visits to Costa Rica. We do nothing illegal and this charity was started because we wanted to give something back to the country that has provided us with so much enjoyment. My vote would be to donate proudly in the name of CRT.
Regards.

I have had one PM & two replies on this thread about the request for a donor name. All three were in favor of CRT being named.

I PM'd Admin1 and he also has given authorization for the CRT name to be used.

Unless there is a ground swell of negativity in the next couple of days, the donation will be made in the name of CRT.

Again, thanks to all who made this possible.

Health & happiness to all......

Steve - Santas Bro

We have donated the remaining funds to the CR earthquake relief. It was donated in the name of CostRicaTicas (with Admin1's approval). Hopefully this will be a small gesture to show that we are not only takers from CR.

Much thanks to Orange, Shawn4DelRey, Mucho Gusto, and El Silencioso for their input and support.

Once that PR does not need the money loaned for BB57's eyes he will donate the balance of $1,100.00 to the earthquake relief.

In just over a year we were able to donate $3,600.00 to the people of CR. My thanks to all of you that made this possible.

The link below shows the receipts for the $2,000.00 donated.

Again, thanks to all who have made a difference in others lives that we will never know about.

Health & happiness to all....

Steve - Santas Bro

Has there been a donation to the orphanage yet?

Is this still going on?
Did you ever arrange for in person donations?

We ended up donating the money to the Earthquake relief effort. The orphanage made it too difficult to donate to them. If I remember correctly, they had all kinds of requests for things that were beyond the means of our account.

My amigo Orange is correct. Copies of the receipt were posted.

The orphanage, actually more of a day care center, wanted over $40,000.00 to rebuild a school into offices for the hospital to lease. I guess that they thought all Gringos would pay whatever they wished. Several of the long time members were at the meeting. We came back amazed.

From what started as me bringing some toys down, which were donated to the Ch*ldren's hospital, and some school supplies for the orphanage, it turned south on me and became sort of a personal hell. I'm sure that there are still some on the board who think I was running a scam, they thought so at the time. I accounted personally for over 25% of the donated money. I do not steal from anyone.

For those who donated I am eternally greatful. For those who think I was a scam artist, it still hurts. I will never head (it was not my intent at the time anyway) something like this again, but would donate to one in a second.

Health & happiness to all...........

Santas Bro, mi amigo,

Anyone that knows you, or really anything about you, would never think of you as a scam artist. Anyone that does not know you need only ask any of the many, many CRT brothers who DO KNOW you and they will be told very quickly what a great, standup and honest guy you are!! Anyone else who choises to believe otherwise is just a poor pothetic loser who can't recognize a really good guy when they see one. I would not be at all worried about anyone like that. There a lot of us who know you and recognize you for the great and honest 'brother' you are! The rest are unimportant!!!

You can choose not to believe 1 or 2 of these testimonials to Brother Santa Bro's character--but when 4 of the best (and very different) Brothers testify--TAKE IT TO THE BANK!
