GetRhythm and Handy,

I just can't get into the "chrome-dome" look.

And it's WIT, Handy, not Wilt (although I have been called that by some girls. HAHAHAHAHA).

VB. Just for your info the horse shoe said they did not have a atm. So I went to colonial as you suggested and they came thru fine but still had a one hundred K Colones limit. There are plenty of fine ladys at the DR. There are some troubled ones that we have talked about also. I had a Hondruan lady who was a good time. Had the soccer shirt with hondruas on it. I think her name was norma. Nice little spinner body.

The DR does take allitle getting use to. This last time I was getting better.

I believe the complaining really comes from having too many choices. Really, as absurd as it may sound. We are all looking for the ONE that will carry us away to fulfill our deepest fantasies. I am as guilty as the next and as I look inward, this is what I see. One of the best I ever had was a gal from Boston named Jen. Ring a bell?

There was an ATM at the Horseshoe in October, but it was broken the whole weekend. I had to run to DR to get cash to play at HS.

I think that VB is right, and I admit that, atleast internally, I'm one of those complainers, though not vocal on the actual complaining... but in my head it seemed the quality of the honeys did drop slightly with every trip.

But don't fool yourselves, guys. The quality is just the same as before, IMHO, and tend to agree with VB on this. The simple truth is that as the novelty wears off, so does the attraction... That first visit where everything is so new, even TWO honeys available to you is more than what most may be used to, but once you get into the swing of things and it's just not as exciting anymore, then it just SEEMS like there's less to choose from and it may SEEM like it's so much harder work to get a good one... but maybe it's just a reflection of your decreased enthusiasm and positive attitude. It, like the very game we play, is simply an illusion.

But, Phuck it... Rosey Palmer NEVER compares to even the fattest of the bunch... and THAT'S a fact.

See ya all in May.

Relax, there is a scientific explanation for all of this, the complainers are just very depressed, they have Seasonal Affective Disorder (SAD). No worries it all gets better until next year. :D

Except a trip to Paradise is supposed to be a cure for ths disorder and nobody within 30 degrees of the equator is supposed to get it.

Quote:
Jan. 24 called worst day of the year
British psychologist calculates ‘most depressing day’

By Jennifer Carlile

Updated: 1:51 a.m. ET Jan. 24, 2005

LONDON - Is the midwinter weather wearing you down? Are you sinking in debt after the holidays? Angry with yourself for already breaking your New Year's resolutions? Wish you could crawl back under the covers and not have to face another day of rain, sleet, snow and paperwork? Probably. After all, it's Jan. 24, the “most depressing day of the year,” according to a U.K. psychologist.

Dr. Cliff Arnall's calculations show that misery peaks Monday.

Arnall, who specializes in seasonal disorders at the University of Cardiff, Wales, created a formula that takes into account numerous feelings to devise peoples' lowest point.

The model is: [W + (D-d)] x TQ
M x NA

The equation is broken down into seven variables: (W) weather, (D) debt, (d) monthly salary, (T) time since Christmas, (Q) time since failed quit attempt, (M) low motivational levels and (NA) the need to take action.

‘Reality starts to kick in’
Arnall found that, while days technically get longer after Dec. 21, cyclonic weather systems take hold in January, bringing low, dark clouds to Britain. Meanwhile, the majority of people break their healthy resolutions six to seven days into the new year, and even the hangers-on have fallen off the wagon, torn off the nicotine patches and eaten the fridge empty by the third week. Any residual dregs of holiday cheer and family fun have kicked the bucket by Jan. 24.

“Following the initial thrill of New Year's celebrations and changing over a new leaf, reality starts to sink in,” Arnall said. “The realization coincides with the dark clouds rolling in and the obligation to pay off Christmas credit card bills.”

The formula was devised to help a travel company “analyze when people book holidays and holiday trends,” said Alex Kennedy, spokesperson for Porter Novelli, a London-based PR agency.

It seems that people are most likely to buy a ticket to paradise when they feel like hell.

“People feel bleak when they have nothing planned, but once they book a holiday they have a goal, they work toward having time off and a relaxing period,” Kennedy said.

“When you imagine yourself on the beach it makes you feel positive. You will save money, go to the gym and come back to the optimism you had at the end of 2004,” she said.

In U.K., up to a third get SAD
Research shows an escape to the sun can have real health benefits.

Up to a third of the population, in Britain at least, suffers from seasonal affective disorder, or SAD, also known as winter depression, according to MIND, a leading mental health charity in England and Wales. Furthermore, nine out of 10 people report sleeping and eating more during the darker months.

While most cases of the winter blues are not severe, 2 percent to 5 percent of those with SAD cannot function without continuous treatment.

However, it's extremely rare to find anyone with the disorder within 30 degrees of the equator, where days are long and the sky is bright year-round, according to MIND.

Although their findings appear to support a key factor in Arnall's research for Porter Novelli and its client, Sky Travel, the charity warned against overemphasizing the psychologist's claims.

“These types of formulae, if anything, probably serve to oversimplify the complexities of real-life experience,” a spokesperson said on customary condition of anonymity.

Others in the medical field were less skeptical.

“I’m sure it's right,” said Dr. Alan Cohen, spokesperson for the Royal College of General Practitioners, referring to Arnall's equation.

However, “it is postulated that there are a number of different causes of depression,” he said.

“It may be something about one’s personality, genes or external events. For those who suffer from external events, [Jan. 24] would be the most depressing day,” Cohen said.

While travel companies hope to turn gloom into gold this date, for those unable to book a last-minute tropical getaway, Arnall might want to consider a formula for the “happiest day of the year.”

I've heard a long vacation in CR does wonders for this. :)

It is so nice to come back to this place after a year of staying away and find out that Vegas Bob is still complaining. Sort of like going back to your hometown to find the Drive-In still standing. Only this time he is complaining about OTHER complainers. Gotta love the man.

I hope nobody minds me posting an update. I have been away for a long time, and have switched my allegiance to Medellin. VB is right, there is no Del Rey there, and you guys in Costa Rica should always cherish that place. However, since I have now made 5 trips down to Medellin in five months I can honestly say I have no trouble finding pu*sy when I need it. On the last trip I landed at noon, and by midnight I had placed my dipstick in 5 chicas. Plus 3 more the next day, and 3 more the next and 2 more the next....a total of 13 chicas in four days. So you can find em there if you know where to look. Nice thing about Medellin, the most beautiful babes in the world are there....and they don't cost much. Even the real non-pro chicas are hot and fuckable if you have the time to woo them. Unfortunately I never do.

I stayed at the Mansion and heard stories about Vegas Bob, Rodney Dangerfield, and mi amigo Kevin and I laughed till I cried. You guys stay in character even on the road. Gotta love that. The new Chica of the month on the home page? I did her on trip #3 down there. She is a sweetheart. Found her at the pool at the mansion.

As for this discussion about the quality at the Del Rey, it is still there. I was down for a weekend for New Year's even and stopped over for some action. Found a hottie twosome in mini-skirts, and banged em silly at the Hotel Eden. Nice place when you need a quickie room for a few hours. No time for a trip report, but I would say the Del Rey is still up to par.

Don't worry guys. I will not be back. Just checkin in to see if everybody here is OK, and glad to know you all are. One day when you least expect it, I will plop down beside Vegas Bob at the Blue Marlin and buy you an Imperial. One day soon mi amigo.

Hey Astro,
I'm glad to find out that you are still on top of your game. I hope we can meet sometime.
In the last 15 months since you first advised me not to send $ to the chicas, I have only sent about $300. That's not too bad, is it?

Hey Astro,
good to see you post, believe it or not I was thinking of you earlier on my flight home from CR while putting my thoughts together from this crazy trip. You were the master of dancing too close to the fire, experiencing and feeling extremes which most normal mongers would never care or dare to experience. In fact I recall some LAL guys getting pissed you'd even discuss your deep adventures of pleasure and pain. :)
Learned much from you amigo, and could still use your advice once in a while.
Hope to see you in chica-land one day.
