Let's not clog up the thread with useless bickering over the particulars. We can talk about it May 30th over a big fat juicy steak and some greasy fries. :) I need to be sure where you are starting from weight wise. We need to find a scale.

The issue is after having my body composition done, my lean body mass is 210. At 10% fat (quite low), that puts me at 230. I suggested 225 cause I know I will lose some lean tissue along the way

Hand it's exciting to hear of your quest. Man I hear ya I watched a tandem skydiving video from 3 years ago and ache to have those twenty pounds off like I did back then. If you hit Rio I guarantee you'll lose 10 pounds in one week with all the walking, f'ing and great healthy food.

I hoped to see the New Jeff New down here but missed him, he is on the quest too and is down 120 pounds I heard he looked completely different.

one last thing I find hitting the weights is the only way, put on 10 pounds muscle and you're burning calories sitting on your ass.

Hey Hands,

I devised a fantastic weight loss program contest. I and others have used it. It is healthy and effective.

Labor Day is an important date for me. I turn 40, which is significant in and of itself, but also important in my field because we require annual EKG's beginning then to keep our jobs. Talk about incentive...

Anyway, you are a technical guy, so I bet you figure this out even with a poor description:

The contest is based on a point system.
For each week, you will earn anywhere from -1 to +2 points.
-1 if you gain 1 or more pounds
0 for standing pat.
+1 for 1 or more pounds.
+2 for losing 1 or more pounds, and if your new weight represents a new low.

The advantages are that there is no incentive to crash diet, and a couple of weeks does not eliminate you from contention. Also, people of different sizes and diet stages lose weight at different rates. Everyone should be expected to lose at least 1 pound per week.

I'd be happy to have this contest with you. If several people participated, the prize(s) could be fairly significant.

By the way, I've seen that 'Body for Life' program up close. Unbelievable.

As a 6-footer weighing around two and a half, I know how hard it can be to lose weight. Here's a real inspiration.

Our penises hide a bit in the abdominal fat pad. Losing it makes your crank look bigger...it's the same size as always, but more of it shows.
:D
Might become a two-fisted job... :lol:

The other inspiration is this; I have a friend your age who in one years time, went from 300 pounds to 200. It took a full year of a controlled diet (smaller portions, balanced carbs and protein, no soda pop, no beer) and three miles walking per day...but he did it.

It's a bit tougher for me to exercise, but I too am trying to slim down for Labor Day; we'll compare notes in C.R. when I meet you.

Stay at it...everything that has been said here about improved mental and physical health, your image to the chicas, sexual performance and so on is absolutely true.
