OK ENOUGH HAS BEEN SAID HERE!.... let us take the suggested comment and move forward without any hostility.. I do not see a need to lock this down, but I think enough has already been said!

Thanks let us move on!

And the Beat Goes On….

VB your posting highlights a few of the reasons I backed off from the site and took a breather…. I call them Forum Whores. Postings made from Individuals just to numerate their bottom line Posting Counts. The subject content for these folks are not as important as their two cents that is interjected into every Topic or Subject to increase the number of Post…. For this reason I would agree that there comes a time to say enough is enough.

However, this site does bring together people that have common interest and experiences that when shared in Open Forum benefits the masses. Open Forums are the Lifelines for communicating our thoughts our feelings and sometimes our attempts of humor. Open and Honest Insights, Facts, Opinions, and yes Dribble keeps it all Fresh and New.

I do recognize that this is an Open Forum and the Value it brings to many of us here Young, Old, New, or Ones that are Set in There Ways… can be different as in the Women we choose to be with or the Price we Pay for the Pleasures.

Respect for each other is what keeps me grounded but when the Finger Pointing, Unwarranted Harassments, or Negative Vibes begins to Defeat the Purpose of why I enjoy the comforts of the things I do then it’s time to Find a Different Drummer….

We have as most sites do a Forum that has many different Categories within each Category are Topics…. Makes no sense to me to post a Restaurant Review in the Sexual Health and Enhancement, Security & Scams Section… and a typical Restaurant Review would be more of a Straightforward State the Facts Review… Location, Food, Service, Cost, as would a typical Post in Girls Review.

The General Information & Announcements Category in my opinion is where topics can be more liberal and expressive to include a Subject that May or May Not give interest to all. It’s an Open Format that no one is being forced to click and read. The problem is when a thread is hijacked or it becomes a two-way conversation and in terms of subject content, concerns or highlights that many have mentioned I would agree needs to be taken to a PM or an E-mail.

This is an Information Highway with many Express Lanes to choose from… and we all know how frustrating it is to be behind a Slow Moving Vehicle in that Fast Lane… So if it’s a country drive in the park your looking for take the back road and if it’s off to the Big City of Lights put the pedal to the medal and enjoy the ride…

One more note of Opinion…. I have not been on this site for many months and it was nice to be able to Post a Topic Header to say Ola… For the Ones that have issue with my postings and banter read the following response … <Silence>

JB

I have to agree with the main thoughts behind Vegas Bob's original post.

I think each poster should take a moment to reflect on what they've written before posting.

Reread it and decide if it's really of value to anyone besides themselves.

Are they really contributing anything or just throwing in their 2 cents worth? Sometimes these opinions are warranted, sometimes a more thoughtful approach might be better.

The main problems I have is when I have to wade through too much useless banter to get to something interesting. This can cause me to miss something I might otherwise find useful.

Is there really anything of substance there or just taking space?

One example might be 300 posts in 3 months by someone who hasn't even been to Costa Rica. Were even 1/3 of them of value? I guess that's up to the people who read them to decide.

While some posters have many insights and opinions on many topics I often find it a little discerning to read 2000 words when 200 would have gotten the point acrossed.

As for the idle chit-chat and inside jokes (wink, wink, nudge, nudge), yes, most of those I could do without.

As for the greetings upon seen Johnny Black back on the board I would suggest the detractors keep their opinions to themselves if they don't have the history on the board to appreciate seeing him post again.
Not only that but his post had over 300 hits in less than 2 days so apparently someone found his return worth checking out.

But that's just me.

Think your opinion of a post "with nothing to say" is a subjective as a "beautiful women"

Vegas Bob since you started this post want to defend these posts of yours

OMG are we actually seeing some signs of inteligent life on the planet? It's hard to believe that it came from Texas. (No offense Texas and Vegas but you did give us dear old Religious right George Bush)

Are you shitting me? These chicas are actually available to anyone. Here I thought they only wanted me and were willing to throw themselves at me for nothing. What's all this talk about "cien or no cien"? I thought these chicas were just looking for a little companianship in a country dominated by an overabundance of females. Live and learn:It's a good thing we have such fine authorities as this author to learn from.

Not picking on you Bob, just trying to point out what is one persons worthwhile post might be something else to another.

VB, see what you started? Are you happy now?

Wit, you're points are well taken. At least as they might refer to me. Keep posting but keep it short and to the point. Believe it or not, like Bob, there have been times when I knew my post count was just way too high and took a step back from posting. I just find it too hard to stay away. Also, as hard to believe as it may be, I also TRY to keep my message length down (not too successfully). When you get down to it, its really hard for most of us to change the way we write (Prolijo is not inkluding Kosher when he says this).

As for the comments directed at other members, I'm not even going to go there. That's all I have to say.

Okay, now can we end this squabbling.

ITS GETTING OLD IN A HURRY!

A point was made, which as we state everyone has their right to when it is not a flame or a direct attack on anyone. You can either thnk about some of the suggestions regardless of who you are, and act on them or you can continue to do what you are doing it is up to you.

Now this thread will not get out of hand or it will disappear. ENOUGH SAID!

YO New and Old: Lighten up and quit phucking with each other.
Prolijo, your intelligent and well thought out posts are certainly not the problem.....they are welcomed. J-Black and Nucknfuts, have not met you newcomers but have enjoyed your imput and style, a plus for the forum. Ding Dong, you seem to be a qualified traveler and have given some good imput also but por favor fellow.......tread lightly, you're begining to sound like Badabing.
Although I am no longer active on this forum I do occasionally return to see who and what is going on. V-Bob, who has welcomed and assisted many travelers in CR, has touched on a subject that usually occurs when a forum becomes saturated due to increased membership.....especially members who have never been to CR or even out of the US for that matter, serious newbies are excused. This topic was also voiced on the CRS forum over four years ago. Being that a forum is free expression there is no real answer or cure to the problem except to air it out now and then keeping new and old members abreast of the concerns. Remember, what one person thinks is a good post there is another person that adhors it. Over active Posters come and go......I've missed a few good ones no longer around and have gladly said adios to a whole lot of bad ones that finally left. And yes, I have known several who posted over a hundred times and never set foot in CR or below the border.

The repetitious and over re-visited topics is a small part of the reason I am no longer active on this forum. And the fact that my weird satire way of seeing CR and life in general did not seem to sit well with certain members.....which I could really care less. This is still the best forum concerning south of the border mongering.....thanks to the creativity and hard work of two admins Tomas and Eduardo. No forum site has better webmasters than these two fellows.

OK, I shall not continue with this spam post and clog up the threads. Must give way to qualified posters. I need to slip back into obscurity so take care mi amigos........Circus

First of all, Circus...Glad to know that you're still alive! :D A number of members have posted their concerns about your absense.

Second, Johnny Black... yes, I am sure that you have a long history with many members, and I shouldn't have singled you out. It's just that I read your post immediately before V.B.'s above, and it bugged me at the moment. Hope I didn't offend you, and I look forward to meeting you and tendering my apologies with a drink or two. Hell, I'll buy you a session at Oasis... :!:

As Admin-1 can attest, I was indeed in Costa Rica, so I hope the comments about guys posting who have never been there were not directed at me.

This board is dynamic and growing  and that in itself brings some problems. However, any problems brought by overzealous posters, newbies and interlopers are often made worse by the "good ol' boys" network that exists on such forums; the guys who have been participating for a very long time, who have allegiances and friendships built over many trips, and who believe that their opinions, and only theirs, count for shit.

I believe that my posts are valuable, and my ego and ability to write will continue to drive me to post here. Hope y'all don't mind.

And if you do.... :P

Now, can we all start another thread? Like how to best enjoy a second anniversary party at Kamur? Or how to tell a woman's history by reading her tattoos? Anything!?

:)

If this is what it takes to bring my dear friend Circus out of his shell then so be it. I was just chastised by Ding Dong for my attempts at humor,so I guess we miss you Circus even more than I thought.I'm not sure if I am sorry for bringing up this subject or not. I just thought it should be out in the open. There seems to be a problem that festered when guys are posting hundreds of times about CR and other guys are accusing them of never setting foot here. Then we have other situations where posters are being accused of posting under more than one handle for whatever purposes. My intentions were never to alianate the newer posters. No one welcomes newbies more than I do especially when they arrive here green around the edges. Sorry if I unintentially ruffled some feathers.

I believe this thread was all started about me which is fine by me. One more post will not hurt to much here I hope. Most guys here are all making intelligent response that make sense others are simply cheap shot artists making snide remarks that serves little purpose as well as what have they contributed.

Hey I admit I get carried away before I leave on my trips with too many post (adrenaline & hormones sorry) & El Ciego is right I believe we come & go & I am about to go in the morning for another long trip so I will not be posting much anyway as it is too big of pain & why waste my time here when I am having fun. So relax about me. You can worry about others.

One thing though some guys have liked some of my posts so I believe some have value for some guys. You can't please everybody & I think I hit a nerve with someone here on something. Go back & read not far from when this post happened in another area you can probably see it.

Anyway I am leaving so I hope you wish me a happy trip it is not to CR.
I will be back in 3 months so you will get a break.

You could limit the # of posts per day a guy can make or limit how much text you can use but it seems like admin wants an open forum? Or why not drop a nice line after the guys post seems repetitive & say hey haven't you said that before with a smile face?

I hope admin leaves this up as there are some good ideas here.

Thanks,

Zippy

PS I am on the run again to catch my next flight, Talley HO!

Well, looks like problem solved. Who says threads like this will turn out badly?

I apologize if any animosity resulted from my post. I rarely enter discussions, as my 20 or so posts show, in over a year as a paying member, reflects. It takes quite an obvious problem for me to voice my concerns, and I felt this particular case deserved a response.

Thanks - ME

Awe ... how bout a hug ..

Seriously, I would like to suggest that an online Chat function on the site would reduce the copious amounts of redundant info. for example, a newbie asking the going rates at a MP could ask ppl in the chat sessions, and be directed to search. Another example is some of the smack talk and inside jokes (which to be frank IS why I am here ... I'm here for information AND entertainment) would occur there.

Again just my thoughts
