I have been going to CR since 2000. Sure things change but I have changed too - 18 years older than the age I was in 2000.
Every on talks about the "good old days" which translates for me to the days when we were young and enjoyed our pleasures more keenly.
I am still able to find what ever I want in CR but my pleasure is not as great all the time. Many who do not find the same joy they felt 10 years ago have just aged a bit and blame the CR scene rather than themselves.

I Agee that technology is gaining advantage. That and others going to cheaper places such as Medellin plus poor management at HDR has made things slower, but it's still a happening place. Been there all last week. Great at various times. Just have to be patient. Maybe more than old years. I wasn't there prior to five years ago, but now is still good.

I just spent 8 nights in sjo, July 14-21 celebrating mi cumpleanos with 4 amigos. I was in the DelRey bar 6 of those 8 nights in the 8:30pm-11:30pm range. Every night I wanted a date, I left with a young-< 23 yrs., attractive-7+, flaca or curvy chica-<50kilos, for a fair price $70-$85usd, who came back to my hotel for approx., 1 1/2 hrs & showed me a good time. It's true, the place ain't what it used to be, & that there are plenty of unattractive, overweight chicas around but there are still plenty there who when you have them back in your hotel room completely naked you feel like the luckiest guy on earth.

The flip side to this is that as a tourist who hasn't gotten any in a while, the HDR is new and exciting and nothing compares to the wide variety of available ladies.

But as a resident, it gets old after a while, and we tend to settle in with 3 or 4 regulars and rotate the line up every couple of month or so. Sometimes spend weeks without going downtown. We just order a 'pizza' LOL

The HDR is also a socializing place to meet and sit with other Gringos and chat about the weather and their favorites. Sharing the girl's numbers with a good reference.

The HDR takes alot of patience to interview and see if there is chemistry between you and them.
Alot of guys insist on a bbbj but even though the ladies are doing that with their boyfriends or husbands, they were taught in hook school 101 that its not proper out of the delrey. Interview well and you'll find chemistry and the ladies that enjoy what they do; all the way and every which way and snug.

An education about Costa Rica is not cheap

I have done quite well with facebook. But I will say that I get 1 response for every 10 that I send out. It is a tedious process where you look for chicas on facebook. Some of these chicas take selfies in the HDR bathroom which gives them away. Look at the backgroud of the chicas pics and see if looks like the SL, HDR< Taromina or La Amistad. And there are a lot of chicas that won't go in Del Rey but will take money if offered in a round about way. These chicas even with jobs always need extra money. I'll pm you a few names to look up.

So I waltz in to HDR today, a sleepy slow Monday around 4 pm. Got no plans to score, just did some shopping and had lunch downtown and if I'm near HDR I'll stop in, order a drink, do some watching and ogling and head home.

4 pm Monday, about 20 to 25 maybe 30 girls. maybe 10 guys, many just hotel guests moving about, not looking, in fact, most guys are either yapping with each other or chatting up a ho they might consider, no males walking about looking. In other words...dead.

So my coffee is done, I head to the john and after that, plan to head home. When you live here it's no longer wild n crazy non stop partying. We go back and forth, I tell her I got 2 regulars who get a couple hundred per month from me regularly and she's prettier than both and if she's good I'll continue with her and when I'm off my meds and can pound I'll up the ante to $80 and dinner regularly. We'll meet in the afternoon so it won't interfere with her money making time at HDR when it gets late.

When I was on vaca and earning double plus plus plus over what I now enjoy as a retiree on soc sec and working part time via internet, and had, say, 4 or 5 days to scoop up as much tang as my aging old body can handle, return home to the Sahara Desert of poon availability, and I've already tossed about a g note for flight and hotel and incidentals, why debate $20 to $40 with a stunning beauty???

I mean...this is what I spent the money, time, hassle and aggravation to get to, now I found one of my dreams and I'm protecting some chicken feed???

I mean, think if you're in the good old USA, in a strip bar, and a super hottie says she'll go in the back room with you and fkk n sukk for an hour for $100. You're now dancing on one of the tables, pouring your drink over your head shouting yes...yes...yessss...

Under those vacationing circumstances I've unashamedly paid cien on multiple occasions, but only to 8's, 9's and 10's who were friendly and fun and promised what I wanted or were close enough.

Without question I always got my money's worth, oddly the times I get burned by a ho, and it still happens even to old guys like me who've tagged 100's of them, it's usually the mediocre ones who settle for $50, $60 who end up burning you...at least in my case...

But living here is diff. You got time on your hands. Your paycheck is now lower, or again, at least in my case. Tossing a cien here and there is no longer no big deal...

You can saunter in HDR, Zona, Havana and SL any time of the day or night and chat up girls and walk away or choose good ones or get their numbers if you like them but got no time at the moment. You have contacts at mp's. You can walk easily to 3 or 4 mp's that are decent and ever changing line ups...You've got phone numbers of nice ones you didn't have time for at that moment you met...

You have local fellow ex pats giving recommendations. In my case, I also have 2 fave's who constantly deliver and I've known them since Nov and can call and if one's not available the other is or I have a couple back up second stringers almost as nice.

You can offer $50, $60, $70 and many are going to happily take it and still enrapture and capture you for a good solid hour or more....and many are stunning and gorgeous.

So for me, a resident, I gots no desire to roll the dice of a cien and possibly not get good performance but an empty bale of promises not kept when I have so many choices available for less and sometimes far less with proven performers, or if other newbies I can call, only losing a smaller amount if they burn you.

The odd thing about me, if I got her for less and she was spectacular and then said "any further visits with me will be the same but I demand cien per" I probably would go for it, she'd be just a pricier one of my choices as I review my little black book a hozzze...

I go to the Del Rey two or three nights a week and rarely take anyone from there. Not that I don't see attractive women there but because I find more attractive women elsewhere. Living here gives me the freedom of being selective and the convenience of being able to take my time. The absolute best way to find incredible women is from referrals from friends in the know who don't hoard their treasures. Three of the top four women that I have ever been with in my life out of hundreds are available here but not someone you will find at the Del Rey. All three of them I met at mps. None of them work there any more. My current to-do list includes women from the Sportsman's Lodge, Cocal, mps and social media. Remember the better ones build a following and work from calls from regular customers rather than sitting around waiting for a new customer.

I know times are tough. You should never pay cien. Ruins it for everyone else. Of course there is the chance of turning down the best you may ever get for holding out for $20. It is relative. It comes down to getting quality for the money that you spend. Sometimes you have to take a chance. I regularly pay cien and get 3 or 4 hours of company and sex. Others I have seen took women at the Del Rey and paid whatever and got 15 or 20 minutes. Who gets the best deal?

I haven't been in Costa Rica in over a year. I started going 3 years ago. Even though I wasn't around for the golden age, Del rey is ruined because of gringos. When I started going 60 dollars in the morning was acceptable. 70 maybe. Remember this was not long ago. My last time, one morning girl wanted 100. Sure, some will still take 60 but yes the culture has changed. I remember I would get this very pretty girl for 80 at night. She probably still works there. Bbbj, good Phuck, tongue kissing. Did her twice in one trip. When I came back 6 months later, she says only cien. Of course I refused (I already got photos and nude vid so I don't care). Anyway I talk to another guy who previously had her before I arrived. She stayed with him for 2-3 hours. So instead of 100, he gave her 200 dollars. I almost blew a gasket. Anyway at the end of the day I've been going to colombia and mainly Thailand. Much cheaper, better sex, and nicer women with better attitudes. In Pattaya, you can get a girl all night for 33 dollars. At most 100 for all night in the clubs. And in the bars, bbbj no question. 40-45 dollars for 1 hr. A few Phuck no condom but I'm not gonna get into that. I'm going to keep going. I left Costa Rica in the past

And lastly I've had the opposite. Most girls who didn't press for money or ask for cien we're my best ones. I've never given a girl in cien in del rey and I've had a few stunners. I'm a younger guy. So I understand, if a guy is older or ugly, then yes cien is mandatory. I know a few chicas that feel this way in Costa Rica.

I’m flying in on a Wednesday and leaving on a Saturday. Going to give this a try and see if it works out better due to the face that the girls are in SJ during the week but head to Jaco for the weekend to make the bucks. They start at $500 and end up around $300-$350. I know this because my boss was telling me about how he was in CR and got a deal on a provider. I thought to myself if he only knew how him and the other are F*^king it all up. Man I miss the good old days

I think there is a chance that the reluctance to pay cien has created the current situation in CR. I'm not advocating that every chica warrants a Benjamin; just opining that the majority of higher quality chicas seem to have decided they would rather go somewhere else where their poor negotiating skills may still earn them a raise. Go to a Porsche dealership and tell them you want a 911 Turbo but won't pay more than the price of a Honda...not going to work out too well for you. Real world economics...just saying.

So last night I'm at SL for the Miss SL contest. It wasn't too crowded but many guys n hoes standing along the walls, fun time, fun show, great food, wonderful waitresses, same as usual.

Some guys had girls grinding them with their butts standing against the wall while they watched the show. One was hitting on me, the usual where u frumm sh*t. I didn't tell her I lived here and been coming here 15 years, it was loud, but she flirted with me, tall, juicy, pretty. I flirted back, I liked her.

I wasn't looking for action that night, but she was turning me on and I thought I just might take her home. I'm hearing all kinds of idiot stories like this all the time and it never seemed prevalent years ago, of guys getting duped over and over, even an old pro like me!!!

Today I went to Monica's, 2 of my fave hotties were there, great performers (see my blurb in the "Monica's" post), Rob told me my all time fave was gone but is coming back from Venezuela in a week.

I found a new one I liked and paid 20k for the room, 10k propina and had my world rocked, and no hoe in my apartment placing me and my possessions at risk.

Now I got 4 to choose from there that I know and other cuties were sitting around that looked like a test drive was warranted.

I'm beginning to prefer this place (and I went over to Oasis off Paseo Colon a couple weeks ago, a Nicole there showed me her stuff and she was magnificent, same low reasonable price.

I also picked up a Melissa at HLH awhile back and had a rip snorting good time, very pretty 30 y/o who looks 22.

I picked up 2 at HDR in the last couple weeks and both were big disappointments and $80 each. I thought I'd never say this but I'm less and less enthusiastic about picking from HDR and SL and more and more inclined to pick from an MP, and if I fall in lust with one there, they always give their cell number.

Shame, I remember the days I could pick anyone from HDR and almost always get good or great service, 9 out of 10 times, and the one "bad" session wasn't that bad either.

It seems for some unknown reason the latest name of the game is to lie, steal and delight in ripping the guy off, even a stinking 5k when this hoe could have got $80 from me and maybe a nice propina, the usual taxi money, if only she would have done her job, and if really good, repeat business.

As I've said many times before, we're often enamored of their attractiveness and sexiness, but many are just stupid vulgar low class little bitches that conive, lie and steal, and if they just did what they said they would, they'd be making big bucks, getting repeat biz and referrals.

I remember one of my faves of yesteryear who was popular told me she made $65k a year in American $$$, bought a car and put herself through business school and had a sweet pad in Escazu.....all at about age 23...
