jetBlue sent this pleasant email to me today. If you have any complaints at the SJO checkin, blame the USA or the terrorists.

=====================================================================

YOU WILL LIKELY ENCOUNTER LONGER WAIT TIMES AT CHECK-IN COUNTERS & SECURITY CHECKPOINTS.

Please be advised, the Department of Homeland Security/Transportation Security Administration (DHS/TSA) has recently issued new security protocols for all Customers traveling to the United States from international destinations. Customers can expect increased and extensive security screenings and may be subject to brief questions at check in and at security checkpoints. These screenings will be conducted in accordance with this mandated DHS/TSA security directive. While we know this is not ideal, planning ahead for these possible outcomes should make for a better travel experience.

All customers are encouraged to arrive at the airport early and allow extra time for travel due to the increased security screening. Please be sure to check your flight status online or via the JetBlue app prior to arriving at the airport. For airport information, including check-in times and terminal information, click here .

For additional details from the DHS, click here.

We look forward to welcoming you onboard soon!

That's awesome! At least the USA is in business; creating jobs in other countries now. Note the fine print in their email.

That email basically states, once you have jumped thru ALL of the bullshit hoops, we FINALLY welcome you onboard.

You don't know what you've got into, but experiences are different. Hopefully, your experience is better than mine. Still a good time, but the interview people are like the hoes in del Rey. Constantly bombarding. Not just in CR but USA too. Lines are crazy.

The new rules from Washington or DHS or whoever is forcing all airlines to "hassle" every one coming into to the USA from any country. You cannot blame Costa Rica they are just following orders from the almighty USA.
That must have been implemented within the last month. I traveled from Medellin, through Panama, October 2. In Medellin, they asked the two or three standard questions about my luggage. In Panama, I don't recall them asking any questions. When I got to Orlando, it was a whole new procedure. They now collect your customs declaration, or Global Entry printout, at immigration. Orlando has all remote gates. You ride a tram to the terminal. In the past, if Orlando was your final destination, you collected your bags at the international remote gate and took them with you on the tram. When you got to the terminal, you were ready to go home or wherever you were going. Now, after waiting and collecting your bags at the remote gate, you have to put them on a conveyor belt and travel on the tram without your bags. They tell you where to collect your bags at domestic baggage claim. I waited about 25 minutes to get my bags at domestic baggage claim. In total, it was about an hour after deplaning in Orlando until I exited the terminal.
