Bill was a Man's man, someone you could trust to have your back. His life was a full one from the hell of war, to the studies of the Arts and Humanities, the doldrums of everyday life to travel, adventure and discoveries. Towards the end, his Crown was Contentment, one seldom worn by any King.
Everyone loved Bill, grown men, innocent youth and even the most jaded Little Darlings. Laughter and smiles were his companions. His wit, stunts and performances were both legion and legendary....surpassed perhaps only by his modesty and true nature of a gentleman.
While quick with a quip or tale, trying to get any stories of his personal life was as though trying to fill ones glass from a suspect faucet, drip by drip, a sputter or two....he played those cards close to his vest.
From what those of us have gleaned, I believe he came from modest if not, indeed, spartan beginnings and yet accomplished a life with experiences literally from high atop the hightop to the environs of desperate men.....in fact, he enjoyed the company of desperate men in that they had more interesting tales to tell.
It is said that when one is born, the 3 Sisters Fate measure the cloth for the width and length of our mortal lives....if so, Bill's tapestry was one to be remembered, a man for all seasons.
I shall miss Brother Bill and remember him fondly.....may Providence Bless him and all his Brothers and friends.
