The first part of my reply to your OP was made in jest, with no hostility intended. I am not a hostile guy. I hoped that the emots that I added would make it clear that I was joking. But I understand that hostility, like beauty, is in the eye of the beholder.

The second part of my reply was a "jab" at the Admins., who actually can answer your original question, but who are so often unresponsive to CRT members' concerns. They are the ones who arrange the discounts for us. Notice that they haven't responded to your question even yet.

If you stay at Sportsmens Lodge during your stay just show your room key to the starter/Pro Shop fellas and you will receive 10% off of the fee`s and cart at Valle De Sol Golf Course. It has been this way since 2005.

That is the link. Thanks for sharing. You will notice if you follow the page to Cariari they have one tee time per day at the discounted rate. It says it is $51.00 on most days. Great value in my opinion. Also, the restaurant above the Fresh Market on the road into the course has excellent Sushi.

Some general tips:

-Valle de Sol is a easy course to access. Not too expensive, not too many people particularly during the week.

-If you're going to play during the rainy season, you want to play in the morning with a tee time earlier than 10 (9am would be my recommendation). Avoid playing in October…too much rain and the courses get muddy.

-If you're in Jaco, the Marriot Los Suenos has a decent 18 hole course. It's gone through maintenance ups and downs, but it's in pretty decent shape lately. Be prepared to lose a lot of balls if you end up in the jungle rough.

-The best courses are Pinilla and the Four Seasons, both in Guanacaste. IIRC, the Four Seasons started opening up their course to non-guests recently, but it's pricey. Beautiful course.
